After giving birth, a woman's internal wounds take six months to heal, 12 months for physical recovery, two years for hormonal balance, and up to five years to rediscover her identity. Relationships frequently fail during this time due to a lack of understanding. Be kind and patient with new mothers; they are facing more challenges than it appears.
This works in relationships too. Never beg for love. The only time an apology is warranted is when you are genuinely wrong, outside of that, never beg for affection. Never plead for someone to stay, to care, to choose you. It reeks of desperation, and desperation has never once made anyone more desirable. As Duma Boko said, “if they want to leave, help them get out.”

Repost for others to learn!
This is a beautiful question, and even more beautiful that you're seeking understanding beyond imitation, may Allah reward you and us abundantly.
Yes, many people move after the obligatory prayers before praying nawāfil, and this practice has a sound basis in the Sunnah.
The Prophet SAW encouraged that voluntary prayers should not be prayed in the exact same spot as the obligatory one without a separation. This separation can be done by moving to another place, or speaking briefly (like dhikr or a short word).
This is based on narrations where the Messenger of Allah SAW said that one should not "join" a prayer to another without a distinction.
The reasons include;
To distinguish between farḍ and nafl
So they are not mixed up in reward and intention.
To increase places of sujud (prostration). On the Day of Judgment, the earth will testify for where you worshipped Allah. Imagine multiple spots bearing witness for you.
To revive the Sunnah and bring mindfulness. It prevents mechanical worship and adds conscious intention.
To spread worship in different places. Especially at home, as the Prophet SAW encouraged praying voluntary prayers in one's home.
Thus, it is not just an imitation, it's actually a subtle Sunnah filled with meaning.
May Allah be pleased with us.
