@financedystop Avg salary in ‘09 was like $40k. $80k was like an 85th percentile salary. That wasn’t the person in the $500 apartment.
So sure - some costs have gotten out of hand relative to income. But u also can’t look at 17 years ago through the lens of today’s incomes.
@BuccoMike Doesn’t mean he won’t miss time, but this doesn’t look like a broken knee cap
(If you are a Pirate fan, this is too important to do the “kinda guess, kinda have a source, look good if it’s right thing)
@Verz I think some earlier mesos had a stronger line around 7. But I think this first line being so strong (esp city south) is reducing CAPE for later. So Likely hit and miss later and not severe. Seems like trigger pulled too early.
@DTonPirates Might be the worst sequence for an @MLB crew I’ve ever seen. Not just one call. The blown ball call, the blown challenge, and the ejection. FFS
@ThePoniExpress The Steelers have played more TNF games in Cleveland in the last 10 years than in Pgh.
Does any other team have this type of split in terms of having to play Thursday on the road? It’s nuts
@DanZangrilli Last year: B+…established a much better culture and kept the team fighting.
This year: B…doing well, but also has a much better roster. Not sure if the team is +/- versus avg mgr. But I also think he’ll continue to grow with bullpen and lineup management.
@AustinRBechtold I get being smart with pitch counts. But he struck out the side in the 8th. I would have given him a chance, especially with no clear #1 closer.
It’s a long season - but with this division can’t afford to blow many more games. Ride your horse.
@JoePompliano AGC has areas that are 30+ min from the city. Those aren’t in play. There were a lot of Airbnb, etc in the city, in addition to packed hotels.
From being in it - I’d probably say the crowd was 2/3 “local”. But that’s still a huge number coming in.
@scoopfurly13@ThePoniExpress The Steelers have literally been to the Super Bowl 3 times in the last 20 years.
(What’s even more crazy is this somewhat “down” period in Steeler history still has more wins than the Eagles in the last 10,20,30 or whatever selective endpoints u want)
@YaZhynka@_puckChirps@KodyDuncanPGH They were 5th in % to capacity. And yes - the fans are as passionate as anywhere. They are just burned out.
As I’m sure you know - PNC while gorgeous has one of the smaller capacities - so some of those sellouts have a lower number.
@NoLimitGains This is more an exercise in how selective endpoints can be misleading.
If a person invested a little before that year, they would be way up. If they held it after 2013, they are way up. If they did both, and held to today, then they are wayyyy up.
@fujim0do@BobGolen I think it’s the opposite. That seems like such a long time spanning many eras, yet the person is only 45.
In comparison - 1981 doesn’t seem *that* long ago, but a person born then is also 45 now.
@GirimonteNicky@TCUBasketball I get your point, but that’s not really understanding what he took over at Pitt. New building, team ranked in the top 5 -7 the previous 2 years. No doubt - he took that and ran with it for over a decade.
But a lot changed after that contributed to Pitt’s recent downturn.
@totallyfused@matthewluciow92 Elite highlights, sure. And an elite runner and legit good WR.
But he had like a 70 career passer rating, and more INTs than TDs. Completely off the charts low for what you see today. Guys that get relegated to backups are usually in the 80s.
@matthewluciow92 He was a ton of fun, especially as Slash.
I do however think people forget that he had offenses as QB built around his skill set. It’s not like BC made him a pocket passer. You see some of it here.
I think that lack of consistency as a passer would show up today too.
