Thank you Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for your warm wishes and kind words.
I deeply value the strong and enduring friendship between India and Malaysia and look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen our partnership for the benefit of our peoples and the region.

With conflict in the Middle East impacting Australia, we must shore up our fuel supply.
That’s why Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and I have agreed a Joint Statement on Energy Security to help keep fuel flowing between our countries.
More than ever, it’s important we work with our international partners to make sure Australia has the fuel it needs.
Because our number one priority is delivering for Australians.
I wholeheartedly welcome the latest development in the current US-Iran war, in respect of the ten-point plan as proposed by Iran and positively received by the US.
This proposal augurs well for the restoration of peace and stability, not only to the region but also the rest of the world. It is earnestly hoped that the negotiation process will be conducted in good faith, with a firm resolve to seeking lasting resolution to the issues currently facing the region. Peace talks cannot succeed if the proceedings are cloaked in deception and double-dealing.
It is imperative that the ten-point plan be translated into a comprehensive peace deal, not just for Iran, but also for Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. Further, it is incumbent upon the parties concerned to ensure the end of the genocide and dispossession of the people of Palestine, not least in Gaza.
I once again extend our sincere congratulations and deep appreciation to Pakistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the tireless and courageous diplomacy that helped bring this moment about. Pakistan's willingness to speak to all sides, without fear or favour, reflects the highest traditions of Muslim solidarity and international responsibility. Malaysia stands ready to support and complement all efforts in this regard.
We also call on the international community to ensure unimpeded humanitarian access to all civilian populations affected by this war.
Let this be a turning point towards lasting peace. The world cannot afford for it to be anything less.

I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes.
Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability. We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days!

“The Malaysian government has indicated to me they regard their role as a reliable supplier of liquid fuel to Australia, extremely importantly, and that they see Australia as a key ally and friend,” he said.

PM Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim: negosiasi dg Iran harus bertujuan untuk mengakhiri perang, bukan skdr gencatan senjata. Iran berhak mempertahankan kedaulatannya, melawan serangan AS-Isr.

Bugün Malezya Başbakanı, kardeşim Enver İbrahim ile Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyemizde bir araya geldik, Yüksek Düzeyli Stratejik İş Birliği Konseyimizin ilk toplantısını icra ettik. 🇹🇷🇲🇾
Ziyaret vesilesiyle Türkiye-Malezya kardeşliğine yaptığı eşsiz katkılardan ötürü Sayın Başbakan’a Cumhuriyet Nişanımızı da tevcih ettik.
Rabb’im dayanışmamızı, muhabbetimizi daim eylesin…
I have followed developments in Venezuela with grave concern. The leader of Venezuela and his wife were seized in a United States military operation of unusual scope and nature. Such actions constitute a clear violation of international law and amount to an unlawful use of force against a sovereign state.
President Maduro and his wife must be released without any undue delay. Whatever may be the reasons, the forcible removal of a sitting head of government through external action sets a dangerous precedent. It erodes fundamental restraints on the use of power between states and weakens the legal framework that underpins international order.
It is for the people of Venezuela to determine their own political future. As history has shown, abrupt changes in leadership brought about through external force will bring more harm than good, what more in a country already grappling with prolonged economic hardship and deep social strain.
Malaysia regards respect for international law and sovereignty as paramount to peaceful relations between states. Constructive engagement, dialogue and de-escalation remain the most credible path towards an outcome that protects civilians and allows Venezuelans to pursue their legitimate aspirations without further harm.

I welcome the ceasefire agreed by Cambodia and Thailand, which took effect at 12:00 (UTC+7). The decision to halt fighting and to hold forces in place reflects a shared recognition that restraint is required, above all in the interest of civilians.
The Joint Statement sets out practical and positive measures, including verification by the ASEAN Observer Team and direct communication between defence authorities. These provide a basis for stability, and I am hopeful that both sides will carry them out faithfully.
As Malaysia hands over the ASEAN Chair to the Philippines at midnight on 1 January 2026, we will support all efforts to ensure that these undertakings are honoured and that ASEAN’s prestige and credibility as a region of peace are preserved.

Following my discussion with US President Donald J. Trump and in light of continued tensions along the Cambodia-Thailand border, I held separate calls with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand and Prime Minister Hun Manet of Cambodia.
During these exchanges, I conveyed Malaysia’s deep concern over the situation and urged both sides to exercise maximum restraint, cease all forms of hostilities and refrain from any further military actions, including the use of force or forward movement of armed units, with effect from 13 December 2025 at 22:00 (UTC+7).
To support de-escalation and promote transparency, I have requested the deployment of the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), led by the Malaysian Chief of Defence Forces, to monitor developments on the ground. This mission will be complemented by satellite monitoring capabilities provided by the United States Government, commencing at the same time.
Findings from the satellite monitoring and field observations will be compiled by the AOT and presented at an ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Tuesday, 16 December. The report will provide an objective account of the situation, including the positions of both parties, in the interest of accountability, confidence-building and the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
Malaysia remains committed to working closely with ASEAN partners and the international community to ensure that dialogue, restraint and diplomacy prevail.
