@esrtweet If the Orch-OR theory of consciousness is correct (and it could be), consciousness arises from quantum computations within our brains. AGI could be a long way off.
I was writing Fortran with punched cards in 1968 at U of Illinois, submitting the deck of cards to the priests on the other side of the glass window. Got a 'D' in my first CS class. Now using multiple AI's to write code that I never would have been able create on my own. Every day I wonder "what could have been" if these tools had been available decades ago.
@Ford I own a '22 Escape Hybrid. Love it. However, I've just ordered a '26 Tesla Model Y with FSD; for a lot more money than the Escape.
The reason is FSD.
If there was an Escape Hybrid with FSD, I would have bought it in an instant.
Tell the lawyers to pound sand. License FSD.
Scott, I disagree with your assertion that the Tea Party was not organic. I attended a number of rallies, and found that most of the people were middle aged or older (not likely heavy social media users), and that the signs were all hand made. Everyone was well behaved, and policed the area before leaving. Anecdotally, that was the time I first learned that I was a racist; I thought "Cash for Clunkers" was a bad idea, and of course the only reason you'd object to that was because you were a racist.
