Delighted to witness the signing of two agreements today that represent a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards sustainable development and Nigeria-Germany relations - a major gas export deal and a $500 million investment in renewable energy.
These partnerships which underscore our commitment to our energy goals and economic growth, also signify the strength of Nigeria’s economic partnerships on the global stage.
I look forward to the positive impacts these projects will bring to both our nations.

I had the honor of flagging off the distribution of food items for vulnerable households through the Lagos Food Bank Programme earlier today.
This initiative aims to alleviate the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government on the residents of Lagos.
The Lagos Food Bank Programme is part of the intervention measures implemented by our administration to ease the hardship faced by many Lagosians due to increased transportation costs and rising food prices resulting from the fuel subsidy removal.
In addition to this Food Bank initiative, we have also implemented other measures, including a 50% reduction in transportation costs within the government-owned bus system and free health services for pregnant women in government hospitals.
This food bank initiative will directly benefit 500,000 households. It is noteworthy to highlight the involvement of over 2,500 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in bag manufacturing, food aggregation, packaging, and logistics. Indirectly, this initiative will positively impact over 25,000 employees of these MSMEs.

"Today's indictment serves as an important reminder: anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be President of the United States." @Mike_Pence
I am pleased to announce the unbundling of the Lagos health sector, a crucial move to address the existing gaps and ensure improved coverage for all residents.
By creating six primary care districts, we took a proactive step towards delivering universal health services to every resident.
The decision to establish these PHC districts was driven by our commitment to leaving no one behind and recognizing the need to reach low-income communities and provide them with adequate and quality healthcare.
To effectively manage and supervise the operations of the primary health care districts, I have appointed Permanent Secretaries. Elevating medical practitioners in the public service to the position of Permanent Secretary is a testament to their expertise and commitment. Their valuable experience will ensure that the primary care districts operate at the highest standards, delivering quality care to our residents.
It also gives me immense pride to share that gender equality was a top priority in the appointment of permanent secretaries. With a balanced division of men and women in leadership roles, we are fostering inclusive decision-making and driving progress towards a stronger Lagos.
Our vision for a Greater Lagos Rising demands transformative reforms. The expansion of administrative districts in the health sector is aligned with our unbundling efforts across various sectors.
Together, we will achieve comprehensive health coverage and a brighter future for all.
I had a great evening at the welcome reception hosted by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Nigerian Governors Forum to mark my first official visit to Lagos as the nation’s president. I’m grateful to them and other people of goodwill who graced the event.
Today, we hosted a welcome reception for His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It was an absolute honor and delight for me to welcome back to the Centre of Excellence a man whose life, work and legacy remains a guiding light for us all.
Also at the event were my esteemed colleagues from the Nigeria Governors Forum, leadership of the National Assembly, government functionaries and members of the All Progressive Congress.
Today is an auspicious day as it marks the one month anniversary of our President’s tenure; a tenure that began with a promise of change and one that is already delivering on that promise.
In one month, His Excellency has assembled a team of exceptional individuals who share his vision and are working tirelessly to transform Nigeria into a prosperous and inclusive nation.
In President Tinubu, we see a leader committed to the development of Nigeria, its people and its future and once again, we welcome him back to his home state and wish everyone a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
Yesterday, I joined Mr. Gbenga Oyebode Chairman CFAO, trustees, members and eminent personalities to celebrate the 120th anniversary of one of the most prestigious multinationals in Nigeria.
Being in existence for 120 years, is no mean feat for any organization, and we celebrated this laudable milestone achievement of Corporation for Africa and Overseas popularly known as CFAO and their significant contributions to the Nigerian economy.
I commend the Chairman of CFAO, Mr. Gbenga Oyebode for his efforts over the past years in building a strong relationship with the Nigerian government, and most especially with the Lagos State Government.
It is my belief that CFAO will continue to nurture the trust of Nigerians and the Nigerian market by not relenting in adding value to the economy through high valued products and commitment to its corporate social responsibility.
Once again, I say congratulations to the CFAO family on their 120th anniversary and wish you many milestone achievements ahead.
@adamugarba@ToksAfikuyomi It is actually a waste of courts time to argue that 25%of votes cast in FCT is required to win a Presidential election. Abuja MUST be so special that it's voters are more critical and important than any other states in Nigeria! It's politics taken to another level
Congratulations to my brother and friend @femigbaja on your appointment as Chief of Staff by H.E President @officialABAT.
Your leadership as Speaker of the House of Reps has been remarkable, and I have no doubt that you'll excel in this new role. I wish you success in driving progress for our nation.
Congratulations also to Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia and George Akume on becoming Deputy Chief of Staff and SGF respectively.
I'm certain you'll lead your offices with integrity and efficiency.
I am excited to kick off today with a visit to the central processing unit of our state; the various ministries, departments, and agencies.
Together, we'll build the best civil service in Nigeria, focused on serving our people with excellence and efficiency.
Joined by Deputy Governor @drobafemihamzat, Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri Okunola, and the Permanent Secretaries, we’re focused on the work of transforming our state’s civil service.
We're committed to creating a culture of innovation, transparency, and accountability with a top-notch people- driven state civil service.
I received the Special Envoy of Chinese President XI Jinping and Vice Chairman of Chinese National People's Congress, HE Peng Qinghua, at the State House, earlier today. I look forward to stronger diplomatic ties and increased economic cooperation between our two countries.
I would like to congratulate our new President, H.E @officialABAT GCFR, on taking the Oath of Office and becoming President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
It is an honour to serve as the Governor of Lagos under his visionary leadership as president. In his inaugural speech, he already set down the gauntlet for what will be the transformative and uplifting years for Nigerians.
His exceptional track record as an innovative leader and his tireless efforts to uplift the lives of ordinary Nigerians make him the ideal choice to lead us into a new era of prosperity and unity.
I look forward to working with H.E President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tackle the challenges we face as a nation and to seize the abundant opportunities that lie ahead.
Let us all unite as one Nigeria, standing strong in our diversity even as we embark on this journey of progress.
May God bless our new President and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Ahead of tomorrow, Monday May 29th inauguration for our second term in office, my new official portrait, taken by my official photographer, Ademola Olaniran @ademolaniran1 has been released.
All government and non-government institutions should kindly take note of the change.
Thank you and God bless.

I showed up to support Chef Hilda Baci, in her quest to break the Guinness World Record @GWR for the longest time spent cooking by an individual.
Her dedication, passion for cooking as well as her desire to put our rich culture on the map by not only exhibiting our food but also the resilience, determination, energy and team spirit that has come to be known as the spirit of Lagos and indeed Nigeria is truly remarkable.
We are proud to have Hilda embarking on this journey in our state. I will continue to follow the updates and look forward to the final declaration.

I had a very productive session with fellow governors at the valedictory meeting of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
One of the key goals for us as a forum is to promote inter-state collaboration and cooperation particularly in the areas of economic development, security, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
We also discussed new ways to tackle challenges facing our states and ultimately work towards a better Nigeria.
It was a pleasure to receive the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt, and her entourage today. I appreciate their commitment to supporting Lagos' Energy Transition Plan and exploring new business opportunities in areas like technology and infrastructure.
As we continue to build partnerships with Norway and other countries, we remain committed to ensuring clean energy, providing quality infrastructure, and investing in education and health to create a thriving economy in Lagos.
I thanked the Norwegian delegation for congratulating us on our success at the polls. I remain grateful to Lagosians for believing in my administration and giving us a resounding victory. We will continue to work hard to meet the expectations of our people and make Lagos the destination of choice for investors.
Technology is a key economic driver and Lagos is poised to become a hub for innovation and talent. We want to create an environment where young people can develop their skills and take charge of the technology companies of the future.
With the support and cooperation of our friends in Norway and beyond, we can achieve our vision for a resilient, forward-looking, and safe Lagos for all. Thank you once again to Minister Huitfeldt and her team for their visit today.
Yesterday, I was on LTV to give account of my stewardship of Lagos State as we move closer to Saturday.
On reelection and at the end of my second term as your Governor, there are four words I want you to remember me by: Visionary, Excellence, Compassionate and Trailblazing
