I’m having a lot of referrals refused now and this didn’t use to happen. Someone thinks this is how you reduce waiting lists. Not fair on patients and a lot of extra work for GPs.
Just completed the @Ed_Authority's consultation on SEN Enhanced Support Model / classroom support reform. This feels driven by cost, not by need. It appears to weaken accountability, pushes more onto already overstretched schools, and provides no evidence it will improve outcomes. If you have any stake in this - as a parent, carer, teacher, anyone — please read those documents. It's more about what they don't say than what they do. As a parent of a child with SEN in a special school, I'm deeply invested in getting SEN reform right. We absolutely need change, but I have real concerns about what's being proposed here. For what it's worth, here are my main concerns. 👇 @AutismReviewer@CalebsCauseNI@NickDMathison@SENreformNI@ChrisNICCY@ChildLawCentre@EqualityCommNI@Ed_Authority@Education_NI
There was a major renewables conf in Belfast yesterday with hundreds of experts.
They have solutions to OIL hikes - but offshore wind first mooted for NI in 2022 might not be built by 2036.

I wasn't successful in texting @BBCTalkback due to poor reception - so here's my response to Newton Emerson's disparaging comments on the value of Co-Design @DPACNIreland.
North coast holiday makers beware .. . #StormFloris hits Sunday night/Monday

I haven't listened to this yet but the scenario doesn't surprise me in the slightest
NI Health Trusts withdraw the vital lifeline of respite support at a moments notice with zero care for the impact which drives more #UnpaidCarers beyond their limits
MLAs do nothing to help 😡
@C_Fitz_ I must but should not have to. I am 74 years old with two serious chronic conditions which I manage very well most of the time. All I needed was an emergency prescription. I am in shock as I bother no-one.
Don't put money in to water today-fewer houses get built tomorrow-people cannot buy.
Don't invest in skills/HE today-more younger people leave tomorrow-lower growth.
Don't reform health today-long waiting lists-worse outcomes.
All costs of inaction.
