@MrBoothY6 I’m sure I spend more time in Science lessons teaching the children to explore and explain why what I taught them should happen didn’t happen! “Factors that might have affected the reliability of our testing were…” 🤦‍♀️

@_Reading_Rocks_ We have it timetabled every week as one of our whole class reading sessions. Three or four children will share a book they love, explain why, read a short extract then take questions.

‘Don’t be daft,’ I laughed, ‘I’m old enough to be her mother!’ Then I realised I was. 😕

@AidanSevers Fairy, Colgate toothpaste, Hellmans light mayo - and James Wellbeloved hypoallergenic cat food, as I’ve got a cat who’s allergic to chicken, which is in just about everything, even the varieties that aren’t labelled as chicken. Have quite a few own brands I prefer now.

@AidanSevers A middle school in Southall, W London. Didn’t realise at the time how lucky I was - such respect for teachers and education in that community! And middle schools made so much sense!

@MissD_Y6 Also some spare sanitary products, and take a favourite teddy so the kids aren’t embarrassed about bringing theirs!

@MissD_Y6 Definitely bin bags, plus masking tape and a biro or sharpie, so that when it’s time to pack up and come home, you can throw all the unclaimed festering towels, vests and confiscated items into the bags and label them with what’s inside - so helpful when back at school! 😀

@Teacherglitter This is why middle schools were such a good model - gradually taking children from having their class teacher for every subject to having passionate specialists. Much better deal for them, and It made the transfer to secondary/high school so much less of a culture shock!
