@Matthew_W_FAB @carloople I think also it’s just a fundamentally uncompetitive layer to add. If the goal is to have a competitive card game it doesn’t make sense to have these side bets happening all over major tournaments. Takes away from people playing their best on the best decks.
@armada_dm Well I guess if it is literally a coin flip then the winners would roughly reflect the amounts of each deck that show up. Should be near the same proportions as the field if it were truly random.
@Josh_TCGz I hope that the result of this is not “we won’t ban cards from the strong new heroes so that they stay strong but it’s cool they only get half LL points.”
@TCG_TALK Agreed. One of my favorite things about my early days playing magic was the mounting hype over spoiler season. Can’t really do that in this tight of a window. They would get 24 hours of conversation for each card if they spaced it out.
@TCG_TALK On wildfire - iyslander came and went without using it, and Verdance doesn’t use it, and both of them play at instant speed. I think there’s a place for defensive cards that advance a game plan, and one that decomposes is fine. It’s not like defensive decks have been good lately
@TCG_TALK I’ll share my thoughts here. Tunic gives good counter play to decks that aim for a slow game. Wildfire enables a unique play style that would otherwise be unrepresented. Carapace enables earth heroes, which would otherwise be too difficult. Plunder run is too easy to get 2nd card
@RogerB_MnR@ACHILLES2032 It appears that you do, thus answering your question. Besides, it’s a podcast where they use “infinite” to mean “more than average”. It’s not ironic to be super on brand
