@CelotehDuniaku@NightSkyToday Standard model of particle physics accounts for the electromagnetic, weak and strong forces but it has no gravitational component. Therefore, it has no relevance to the the Hubble tension. The lambda-CDM model of cosmology might need revision.
@habbal_omar@Kd2vlxrocky@elonmusk They have a knack for overselling generic analyses and PowerPoint decks so vague they could apply equally to the aerospace industry or underwear retail. I've yet to encounter a consultant who could convincingly demonstrate their actual value.
@NuevoRoma01@EsotericCD San Marzano (SM) tomatoes are not the best. There is no ranking system for tomatoes. They just work well for sauces due to their less watery/more meaty character. Most of them are canned. SM is a heirloom variety and each SM tomatoe retains its South American genetic lineage.
Google restaurant reviews in Germany (especially Munich) feel alarmingly misleading. Negative ratings and critical comments are frequently removed—flagged by owners as defamation. What remains is a flood of 5-star reviews that don't tell the full story. #Germany#Munich#Food
@PhysInHistory 1) The First Three Minutes - Steven Weinberg. 2) It is about time - David Mermin 3) Feynman's Lectures in Physics I-II-III (in an ideal world this set would be compulsory reading for everyone).
@RBehiel@DhruvPathak672 Would a working GUT extension of the Standard Model with a single, simple gauge group satisfy you? There are pretty good arguments for the selection of candidate gauge groups.
Seymour Slive's book on Rembrandt's drawings is a gem. It is not as exhaustive as Otto Benesch's multi volume set but it has a beautifully curated set of drawings which are rightfully attributed to Rembrandt. Beautifully written and beautifully edited...
@BBCWorld I am a bit confused: He has the looks of a bass guitar player from a Welsh indie rock band. But those rarely come with a hatred for the leftists... Anyway, I hope the best for Argentina, a lovely country inhabited by lovely citizens...
@mattpinfield i wish you a swift and pain-free recovery with all my heart... not being able to exercise is indeed a serious stress/fracture test, but retaining vision has precedence over anything...
@oldbooksguy The First Three Minutes - Steven Weinberg.
One should envy anyone who can find time to read it more than once and pity those who won't bother....
The hammer prices are astounding, but it is wonderful to see that the works by contemporary artists like Julie Mehretu are formally appreciated by the collectors...

Whenever there is too much going on in the world for me to understand/mentally process, either art or physics comes to the rescue... This month my savior has been Lenny Susskind's fantastic little book on classical fields...

@TheLuisPanini Kazuo Ishiguro is, for me, yet another contemporary author to comprehensively read... I got into his works humbly by reading Nocturnes (short fiction). Therein, music and musicians were common story elements which I enjoyed greatly...
@TheLuisPanini J R was my favorite and Recognitions was a close second. I had finished two nonfiction books on Van Meegeren case before picking up the latter. Art forgery is an ever interesting subject for me and early Flemish painters are my all time favorites so I was positively biased...

@mitchlafon Their limited success is rooted in many factors. They did not couple with the right producers & management teams (Q-prime Metallica) at the right time. They had some good songs but their catalogue mostly had fillers, cant entertain a stadium full of crowd for two hours for years.
