Péter Magyar created a historic moment when he took the oath as Hungary's new prime minister, inviting Roma children to perform a song in parliament for the first time at its inaugural session
Hungarian politician Zsolt Hegedűs has become known for his dancing.
After Péter Magyar took his oath of office to become Hungary's new prime minister, ending Viktor Orbán’s autocratic 16-year rule, Hegedűs led his party's members of parliament in a celebratory dance.
Goosebumps ! A lot of us were moved by the short extract of gay, Romani singer Ibolya Oláh singing in front of the Parliament in Budapest on Saturday. Her voice alone is haunting. It's even more moving when you know what she's singing !
So I did my best to subtitle it with help from my dear friend Madeleine who, as a young girl in 1956 Budapest, was told by her father she had 15 minutes to pack before the Russian tanks rolled in. They got out and she grew up in Canada. She was, as you can imagine, deeply moved to hear this ...
💥🗳️I’m speechless. Hungary’s election turnout is 66,01% already at 3pm (2022: 52,72%). Budapest & other opposition-leaning cities lead the way.
Final turnout in 2022 and 2018 were 70,21% and 70,22%.
Polls close at 7pm. It could go well above 80% this time.
Bad news for Orbán.
💥Prominent Hungarian investigative journalist Balázs Kaufmann has shared a message from February 25 in which a source warns him of Viktor Orbán’s plan for a false-flag attack—which has now apparently happened today when Serbian authorities have found explosives at the gas pipeline connecting Hungary.
The February 25 message to the investigative journalist reads:
"Serbia. Serbs or Russians will carry out an “attack” against Hungarian interests in the next three weeks. This is what we know so far. Orbán’s goal is to install a state of emergency. They dropped the idea of an operation on home soil but Orbán pushes for it. Many have confirmed this version incuding serious…"
💥What we’ve all feared is happening: Hungarian Russia expert András Rácz wrote three days ago about a potential Russia-backed false flag attack in Serbia targeting the gas pipeline to Hungary. The same information had already reached multiple journalists, including myself, weeks earlier, from sources connected to Hungarian government circles.
Now Viktor Orbán has announced that Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić informed him about “explosives of devastating power” found at the gas pipeline connecting the two countries. Orbán and his propaganda machine are already amplifying the news everywhere, with the prime minister convening his security cabinet.
It remains unclear what measures the government might take using this alleged false flag operation as a pretext. But if the second part of the information we received also proves true, Orbán could declare a state of emergency, significantly affecting the election campaign—which he is currently losing—and potentially disrupting the organization of the April 12 election.
The opposition Tisza Party has been widening its lead to 15–20 points, if not more. Orbán accuses them of being "Ukrainian agents" for months. His propaganda would very soon link the Serbian false-flag both to Ukraine and the Tisza Party, I have no doubts about that.
I encourage all foreign reporters covering the Hungarian election to pay close attention and not fall for the government’s propaganda or the narratives pushed by its pundits on the Orbán government payroll, including here on X.
The situation could soon be very serious.
minister of a bankrobber country „Nem véletlenül csináltuk, amit csináltunk, a pénzt vissza nem adjuk nekik” "We didn't do what we did by chance, we won't give them the money back" how much deeper we can go?
As a reminder: on September 26, 2014, Hungary's gas operator FGSZ indefinitely suspended natural gas supplies to Ukraine. The Hungarian move came days after a meeting in Budapest between Alexei Miller, the head of russian gas giant Gazprom, and Orbán, who often warns against damaging commercial relations with russia.
The suspension lasted for about three months.
Earlier in June 2014 EU began reverse flows of gas through Hungary, Poland and Slovakia when Moscow ended all gas sales to Ukraine.
Then in 2014 Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Hungary expressed its solidarity with Ukraine, but not at the expense of its own energy security.
In 2026 Orbán doesn’t seem to be able to accept that his profits can’t be “at the expense of” Ukraine’s security if not survival.
It was 10 years ago, 2016 when attackers abused SWIFT to conduct 1 billion dollar heist related to Bangladesh. Almost the same time, but it was related to chinese new year which gave 4 day window for the attackers. Great movie- The billion dollar heist. still love it, check it.
Hey @samsung did you know it took 20-30 years in hungary to clean up environmental damage of Budacolor and similar entities making soil a dumpster of chemical compunds. Hey Samsung currently you make the same in a non-socialist state. Hey samsung. Come up with reports or go die.
The Orbán government supported the toxic battery factory with hundreds of billions of forints in public money, even though barely a quarter of the workers are Hungarian. I wonder why.
