The most dangerous grift in ophthalmology right now is “glasses are harmful.” People that claim diet, exercise, and a 10 part instructional webinar can help you live spectacle free! No. Stop it.

It’s not a big deal for most adults. They will lose some money before realizing that no amount of exercise and bull testicle consumption will fix their presbyopia.

But those same adults have kids. If young kids don’t get the glasses they need, their brains won’t develop normal vision. I’m talking permanent vision loss. I have seen it happen. It’s awful and entirely preventable.

The healthcare system in America is broken. I encourage everyone out there and take your own health into your own hands. You have the right to refuse where you are referred to. You are the driver of your own health, stop letting one doctor, or one healthcare system control you.

Equally as bad, is when the large hospital groups refuse to refer to our practice, despite there being over 8 week wait time to get into their group.

Here is the example: A patient is referred to my practice. When the patient is called by my scheduling team, the patient states "My PCP wants me to go to someone inside his network/group/preferred group."

This has happened at least 2 times in the past few months.

It should be criminal that the large health organizations divert referrals away from specialists in small independent practices.

Abortion bans are unethical for many reasons, one of which being that women with health conditions are required to carry to term or potentially die trying in gop states, as we've seen those exceptions are little more than empty words. That's the antithesis of "protecting life".

Those supporting the unethical abortion bans are ever so eager to blame the women by peddling victim blaming nonsense like "then don't have sex, sex has consequences, etc", but supporting such cruel & unethical laws only serves to highlight how anti life & pro suffering the supporters of abortion bans are.
