@AlexTrace27 Much more time consuming at the start. Once done, I believe they can save a lot of time in the coming years but it can also be frustrating spending a ton of time on a new format and it not enhance the lesson from traditional or even be worse.

@tucker_teach Apps with score keeping such as Nearpod Climb to the Top and Kahoot! are great. Pro: Students are always happy seeing their name up on the main screen and competing with friends. Cons: If you have 2-3 very strong students others get discouraged cause they can never win

@ShannonZeccola When we first started with 1:1 the tech issues with parents was extremely difficult and time consuming. As time has gone on and they are used to our districts setup it has gotten better. While we do have support for tech, parents will always contact the teacher first

@EdTechMilkshake Great question John. As technology and the need advances, tech tools have developed to overcome the original short comings. Not being able to view work in real time, see written skills etc has been removed. That line will very soon no longer exist.

@klineawilmu NearPod was a great addition to my instruction. Being able to view students responses and work in real time while not being in the classroom really helped me stay on top of the daily instruction taking place. I would recommend that tool for anyone who hasn't tried.

I am always a fan of trying to integrate new educational practices and EdTech but I am also afraid of losing instructional time or the lessons being not as affective as normal instruction. How do you decide if/when it's worth the change?

@SJShissler @EdTechGary @McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I feel the same. I think some people saw the benefit of EdTech and instantly thought it was better. I think it added a lot of good pieces but it should not replace the traditional model. It is an additional tool to use in traditional teaching.

@KThomasWDC@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Hey Kevin,
You make a great point about data. The amount of information that is easily stored and sortable/workable from a EdTech stand point is significant. The information we can gather and track is very useful.

@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Not sure I would say better but I would say it adds a great piece to traditional learning. Covid forced us to connect online with students and I believe having that consent and open communication/learning through Edtech is beneficial for all.

@Carolin99750791@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Our school two years ago had a big focus on SEL activities and was curious what your thought was on implementation. I found it difficult at times to do those activities yet still stay on pace for my test courses(AP and Keystones). Are you tailoring them towards your sub?#wued6020
@EdTechGary @McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Hey Gary,
I too have an interest in AI and curious how you plan to implement that into your classroom. What subject(s) do you teach and do you have any current activities incorporating AI currently?
#wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Two emerging trends I am interested in implementing into my classroom are Gamification and Social Emotional Learning. I have done a few activities with both in the past, I would like to modify more lessons to incorporate them.
