@JennaMarieWU Truthfully, I don't. As a cyber teacher, my students' grades are totally dependent on how much work they complete on screen. The closest I get to screen-time management is outlining expectations in orientation & (maybe) limiting content. #wuedt6020
@ClaireShipley13 Yes, all lessons can be taught using EdTech tools. But how effective will they be? The pandemic forced us to accept virtual conditions and teach using EdTech, & we witnessed a global decline in the impact of our instruction. #wuedt6020
@Caitlin59492287 The absolute best use is Kahoot! It's a multiple choice quiz-style game that we used to use before our district bought Chromebooks. #wuedt6020
@MsMachlis Hi Stephanie, I used to long for those "craft days"where we would get to work with our hands and create artistic expressions. I don't know if it is technology or me that hasn't quite captured that aspect of learning. #wuedt6020
@MTr8PhysEd You said it best, my friend. FORCED is a highly appropriate term in this context. Please view my vlog on the topic here: https://t.co/Z19VmsP9pE

@MrO_ELA Thanks, Dave. We're in a weird time where the novelty of technology has not fully revealed its advantages, disadvantages & long-term effects. By utilizing technology, we have exchanged something for convenience, and we're still learning the cost. #wuedt6020
@JennaMarieWU Thanks for replying, Jenna. As a cyber school teacher, I have seen students exhibit many interpersonal skills through technology. And truthfully, I'd be somewhat lost without digital tools. But, learning is still the main goal of our profession. #wuedt6020
@LizMoraMartinez You're right, Lisbeth. We have to keep our focus on learning. Technology will either support or hinder learning. Our responsibility as educators is to know the difference. #wuedt6020
@kevin_wolgemuth Wow! I forgot all about handwriting. I have used less paper in the past two years than 1 month of HW,CW & tests in 2019. Then there's the Integration vs. Usage discussion that points to further inefficiency in technology that is present. #wuedt6020
@khainsey22 Agreed, Kelly. Teens have become increasingly social digitally, but they are becoming less familiar with the nuances of in-person interactions. Their reliance on technology for entertainment could also get in the way of using tech for learning. #wuedt6020
@SJShissler@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I wholeheartedly agree! EdTech's effect on traditional learning is not about comparison, but improvement. Changes are there, but they are built on the foundation of traditional education. This is like asking if the cheese on a cheeseburger is better than a hamburger! #wuedt6020
@ChallburgTeach@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Agreed! EdTech has solidified its place in education, but so have many contributions that shaped traditional learning. If not, then are we saying that EdTech has no need of the contributions of Maslow, Bloom, Skinner, Piaget, Vygotsky & Gardner? #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura EdTech is not better, but makes it better. Once upon a time, the pencil was EdTech. And one day, our cutting-edge methods will be called traditional. The object of the game stays the same, but EdTech changes how we play. #wuedt6020
@JennaMarieWU@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura@JennaMarieWU What's not to love about gamification? It has all the ingredients - learning objective(s), structure, scaffolding, entertainment & low-stakes trial and error. It's fun ushering in discovery. #wuedt6020
@ChallburgTeach@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Yes, Erin! With all of the data available to us these days, it just makes sense that our instruction & assessments are informed by a "higher resolution snapshot" of learner styles and experiences. Analytics Tech can almost give teachers superpowers. #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I routinely implement Social Emotional Learning and Online Learning Design in my cyber classroom. I hope to apply Analytics Technologies effectively in the near future, as I seek to optimize learning and learner experiences. #growth#wuedt6020
