@EdTechMilkshake John, thanks for your candor!
I'm in a similar boat - I teach kids how to use 3D modeling software and their grades are based on their mastery in that software. Sometimes it can be hard to move away but I like your idea of outlining expectations IRL #wuedt6020
@mrsrobersonmed Shannon, what a great idea. I feel like there is sometimes a push to do all EdTech all the time and we sometimes forget about more traditional strategies that are still engaging but screen-free.
@EdTechMilkshake@EdTechMilkshake there is definitely a line. When interpersonal skills start to suffer and students feel like they'd be lost without digital tools, we have crossed the line. Technology is supposed to enhance learning, not become the sole focus. #wuedt6020
@BlakeMusicTeach We've had supportive PD, but there's been so many new iterations that it's becoming overwhelming and we are burnt out.
In the past 2 years we have used 4 different video platforms, 3 LMS, and a number of new changes to old software. #wuedt6020
@ChallburgTeach@McCoolWILMu I have been loving Canva! It's similar to Google Slides in how it lets students collaborate but between the templates, graphics, and effects, it really allows students to embrace their creativity. #wuedt6020
@Caitlin59492287@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Love this growth! Though the pandemic didn't leave us much choice, it has created so many resources and helped many educators explore EdTech more and more. Glad that you're having this experience! #wuedt6020
@EdTechMilkshake@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I love this perspective. Some of the simplest things that we use used to be considered "the cutting edge" and show us how we need to continue growing as the world around us does. EdTech helps us to do that. #wuedt6020
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Absolutely! Education needs to evolve as society does. Aside from the pandemic that forced a shift to distance learning and therefore a heavier integration of EdTech, today's students have had more access to technology in their daily lives than ever before #wuedt6020
@KThomasWDC@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura Kevin, I like the idea of implementing a flipped classroom structure but worry about how much my students will actually do outside of class. What are some ideas to help them engage in the flipped classroom without viewing it as "homework?"
@EdTechGary @McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura This sounds so cool and like something that would be incredibly engaging to students. I'm curious how you plant to explore it and incorporate it into your classroom!
@McCoolWILMu@EdTechLaura I'm interested in exploring the implementation of Gamification. It seems engaging and helps to decrease stigma surrounding failure - encouraging unencumbered exploration and experimentation. #wuedt6020
