@JoyMac22 They're mac and cheese. They just belong together! More teachers are comfortable with blended learning; but that CAN be a step toward a flipped classroom if that's the goal. Flipped classroom IS blended learning; but blended learning can be so many other things, too. #wuedt6020
@GregWilmU eLearning has been part of collegiate educator prep programs for so long that most educators covered it in their undergrad. After fully remote learning, so many teachers became comfortable with more tech in their lessons. To me, it is now a sure thing in education. #wuedt6020
@MsMachlis Why can't toys be tools too? My elementary students certainly see tech as a toy in most applications in their lives. I think it is up to me to embrace the fun side of it; and sneak productivity into its use also. Tech can be fun- why not leave it that way? #wuedt6020
@AlexTrace27 Having to figure things out as you go and HOPE you are meeting expectations can be stressful. Fingers crossed your meetings to analyze results go well! Also, hopefully your district will keep this tech after you have all been trained and are using it proficiently.

TwitterChat Week 5 Prompt: Do YOU feel like your district has provided enough training to use the technology available to you? If not, is it your job to seek out training, ask for the training from the district, or something else? #wuedt6020
@SchafflerCHS Having a flood gate open during training and seeing information just rush through is so unhelpful! I am so glad you have peers to lean on when it comes to figuring it out. I hope you have the chance to have your questions answered next time. #wuedt6020
@MTr8PhysEd The power of choice is so important! My district did a tech training playlist and bingo card during our end-of-summer PD. It was great to be able to pick and choose the trainings I felt like I would use most. Important to remember that for our students, too! #wuedt6020
@tucker_teach I'm glad the district started out strong. I'm wondering if teachers are asking for trainings in our available tech. Also, how many teachers don't use the available tech because they lack the training and simply don't have time to "figure it out"? #wuedt6020
@JoyMac22 Great point about the "wave of creativity." Educators always had it in them, but it took a pandemic to pull it out of some of us. I know I definitely found way more resources for engaging with content digitally than I ever had before. #wuedt6020
@tucker_teach I think that HAVING to learn more technology led teachers naturally to implementing more tech when in-person; and I definitely agree that students are more engaged and motivation is higher. We were forced to teach how students learn, and the results are great! #wuedt6020
Why do pupils tend to gravitate towards the Music Department before, during, and after school? Because itβs their physical, mental, and emotional safe space. Music helps them connect with others, and express themselves, in such a unique way. Music nurtures health and well-being.
TwitterChat: The pandemic has had MAJOR effects on tech in ed. I believe most effects are positive. The MOST positive IMO: districts have been obligated to invest in devices for students and staff to navigate remote learning. PLUS educators increased their own skills #wuedt6020
#BlendedLearning is an important topic to discuss. How is your district making sure YOU have resources and training to implement it? District leaders, how else can you help your staff master this instructional model? https://t.co/ga3dgYl82q
@khainsey22 Incorporating the Emerging Trend of SEL is a CONSTANT goal for me. As a specials teacher, at my school I see the ENTIRE student body. For me, SEL goes beyond the classroom walls. I make sure to be seen and available to interact with students during non-academic times.
@HannumKendra "Engaging with content." WELL STATED. Gamification is an emerging trend that seems SURE to do just that. Gamification is one I aim to implement before the end of the current school year, too!
TwitterChat: I love seeing infographics on Emerging Trends in Ed. Some trends I'd like to implement are flipped classroom and gamification. It would serve my age group well for them to explore information on their own and learn it through gaming. #wuedt6020
@SchafflerCHS@piktochart Thank you! I don't remember the last time I spent THIS much time on a project! I definitely recommend starting early. I tried out a few templates and played around with features at the same time I was making a rough draft on paper of what I envisioned. That helped immensely!
