Trump claims his relationship with Erdogan kept Turkey out of the war against Israel. In reality, it is Israel’s undisputed military prowess, cutting-edge technology, and unmatched intelligence that keeps Ankara at bay. Fierce rhetoric cannot match a lethal, high-tech military.
Turkey, who sent a high-level delegation to pay respects at Ali Khamenei’s funeral in Iran yesterday is hosting the NATO Summit today.
Make it make sense.
🚨 BREAKING
🇮🇷 IRAN ATTACKED A SAUDI TANKER TRANSITING THROUGH THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ.
SAUDI ARABIA SAYS "IRAN IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTACK AND EVERYTHING THAT COMES NEXT."
U.S. SAYS "IRAN’S ACTIONS IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ ARE COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES."
THIS IS EXTREMELY BAD FOR MARKETS...
So the logic here is that because Turkey could have entered the war on behalf of Iran fighting against us and Israel, but didn't, they're our best friends now and we should arm them to the teeth with our best technology and weapons, and completely ignore their increasingly close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamist terrorist groups?
What kind of foreign policy is this?
Sanctioning the Muslim Brotherhood, while simultaneously removing sanctions from the lead state sponsor of the Brotherhood, strikes of political schizophrenia
President Trump has every right to release billions to the Iranians and sell advanced weapons to that madman Erdogan if he believes it serves America’s interests. He can do that even if it endangers my daughters’ lives, the children of Israel, Greek children, and kids across Western Europe.
On the other hand, Israel has every right to launch surprise attacks anywhere in the region against Islamic forces that threaten its children, without telling the United States in advance, even if it runs counter to American interests. President Trump has the right to act for America, and Israel has the right to act however it sees fit against threats from Islamic forces in the region. In this reality, that is exactly what Israel will do, without the US knowing about it beforehand.
I have not heard a single intelligent person defend the sale of F-35s to Turkey. Not one.
In fact, there is ZERO support for this plan among his voters.
The only people who appear to be tangentially supporting the idea are the anti-Israel radicals and antisemites who have convinced themselves that doing anything at all that upsets Israel is worthwhile, despite how much it hurts American interests and the safety of our troops.
The 3 vessels reportedly struck by Iran:
• AL REKAYYAT – Qatari owned LPG tanker
• WEDYAN – Saudi owned oil tanker
• AL MARYAH – UAE owned LPG tanker
There are more hits, but have not yet been reported.
Bahrain's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned an Iranian attack on the Saudi oil tanker Wadiyan and the Qatari oil tanker Al-Rukayyat in the Strait of Hormuz, saying the incident endangered the crews of both vessels.
The ministry said the attack threatened international maritime security and global energy supplies and violated international law and the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
Trump’s foreign policy is worse than Obama’s. His rationale for giving Erdogan the F-35 is the dumbest thing I’ve heard and no one with a brain is buying it.
BREAKING: Brent crude oil prices surge above $76/barrel after the US revokes Iran's general license to export oil in response to Iran striking three commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
BREAKING: A source close to Iran's Ghalibaf says the likelihood of conflict in the coming hours is "serious" following the US revocation of Iran's oil waivers, with Iran set to "intensify its crackdown in the Strait of Hormuz."
The source calls the US action a "blatant violation" of the MOU, adding that prospects for negotiations on a final agreement are now "extremely bleak."
The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has amended the general license that temporarily suspended sanctions on Iranian petrochemical products, revoking the authorization effective today.
A 10-day 'wind-down' period has been provided, allowing previously authorized transactions to conclude no later than 12:01 a.m. ET on July 17, 2026.
I continue to strongly urge the administration not to move forward with any sale of our most advanced F-35 jets. Erdogan has aligned himself with Iran and Russia, harbored Hamas, refused to sanction Russia, undermined American counter-ISIS operations, continues to illegally occupy part of Cyprus, and has repeatedly directed illegal military jet overflights above the Greek Islands, and called for the destruction of Israel. Additionally, he continues to jail his political opponents and has denied dozens of journalists access to the NATO Summit. Providing Turkey with our most advanced fighter jet would jeopardize U.S. national security, risk sensitive technology falling into the wrong hands, and endanger our allies in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East. https://t.co/Fm9f3DLgZQ
Expected!!
July 7, 2026, will be remembered as the day President Donald J. Trump turned his back on America's closest ally in the Middle East and chose to lift sanctions on Turkey under President Erdoğan, despite longstanding concerns about Ankara's relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorists organizations.
It's an upside-down world at this week's NATO summit: Trump is berating our democratic, European allies while praising the authoritarian Erdogan. Under no circumstances should we be sending more weapons to a country that warms to our adversaries and betrays our allies.
BREAKING: Russia's Omsk Oil Refinery, the country's largest, most valuable and top producer of petrol, has suspended all operations following yesterday's large Ukrainian drone strike, per Reuters.
The strike damaged two primary crude distillation units accounting for 75% of the refinery's capacity, with the plant now halting gasoline and diesel sales on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange.
