Jesus never called his followers to defend Christianity, a “Christian nation,” or even their Christian churches.
Jesus called them to defend the poor, the oppressed, and the hurting.
Stop manipulating Jesus for the benefit of a few. Get to feeding, healing, and peacemaking.
"When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God." Leviticus 19:33-34 @kaitlynschiess
Really thankful for the chance to share with my friends at @HolyPostPodcast the very serious challenging facing the US refugee resettlement program and @WorldRelief, and the gap we're facing https://t.co/5CTVVySOzX
Here's how to help https://t.co/227GuUvXtA
Truth matters greatly, but it's an insufficient marker of belonging to Jesus. Someone can say or believe something true, but evidence of the Fruit of the Spirit in their life & character is what indicates true communion with Christ. @skyejethani 🎙️The SkyePod: Small Men
Saying Jesus is Lord is also saying “I’ll follow the Lord wherever He leads,” which, in the case of Jesus, means feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, welcoming the stranger, and loving all neighbors.
It is a declaration that your allegiance belongs to His ways and no other.
Fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control.
Fruit of the flesh: idolatry, hatred, selfish ambitions, dissension, division, moral impurity, etc.
“The church is not a group of people who believe all the same things; the church is a group of people caught up in the same story, with Jesus at the center.” - Rachel Held Evans, Inspired
“Eustace had read only the wrong sort of books. They had a lot to say about exports and imports and governments and drains, but they were weak on dragons.”
- C. S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn't it? Look at these maple branches. Don't they give you a thrill-several thrills? I’m going to decorate my room with them.”
Was asked if I had a twin sister that worked in the town coffee shop
Folks, my sister is 8 years younger than me… that’s just how strong the genes are in this family 😂😂
Currently at a car shop that has signs that say “the family that prays together stays together” & “wise men still seek Him” as well as mulplitle photos of John Wayne hanging on the walls of the waiting room… @kkdumez I think you wrote a book about this? 😂😬 ps. Loved your book
Going through a systematic theology class with my church and this week we are discussing Bibliology so of course I had to listen to @KaitlynSchiess and @SkyeJethani talk about biblical inerrancy 😉
Me: "This passage in Scripture was not addressed to us. While it is useful for context and instruction, it is not binding: Christ showed us a better way."
Them: "But *all* Scripture is God-breathed!"
