Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
A lady is singing to a small baby trying to get them to sleep whilst we’re waiting for everyone to board the plane, and whilst the nursery rhyme might not be working on the baby, my boyfriend is fast asleep from it
First Monday of pride month and the tories spout this nonsense in the name of “safety”. I have never felt threatened by trans people in single sex spaces, like I have by men in public spaces. If anyone sees this as anything other than bigotry, give your head a wobble.

Prosecutors in Brianna's trial said that her murder was "in part motivated by hostility... because she was transgender". Rishi Sunak's "joke" is the exact kind of remark that fans that hostility
@doc_sabine There’s definitely more nuisance to this situation then I can put in a tweet, but I feel everyone should have a chance at anything they want. So we shouldn’t start shutting down this routes, when there are no viable options out there.
Let people go to uni if they want to. You don’t know where it will lead them to. I got on to one of the uni courses offering the lowest entry requirements, because I wasn’t great at school. I’ve ended up getting a PhD from Imperial College. Stop keeping people in invisible lanes.
UNIVERSITY FOR ALL?
I strongly believe that pushing our young people to go to University is a mistake. It’s bad for them and it’s bad for the country. Let me explain why. (This is a long thread. No apologies!) 🧵1/14
@doc_sabine Definitely not saying uni is for everyone and agree we need more routes for people to be able to do whatever they would like. My partner failed his A Levels and was able to find one of the few routes left open for him to train as a teacher, 8 years after school.
The maths department at Coventry University, where I did my undergrad 10 years ago, gave me the best education and chances at doing whatever I wanted to at life. I will forever support the universities who offer lower entry grades to support any person to go to uni.
