@Pentosh1@CanteringClark TLDR: Declining rates & globalization were the primary drivers of the 10% annual compounded market return over last 4 decades. Howard believes Fed will push for a positive real rate (currently -2.2%) & strategies will need to be adapted & implies his intrigue w/ corporate $JNK.
@brian_armstrong I feel that Coinbase's brand, reputation and trust has been significantly eroded by the assets it has chosen to list in the last few years. It's no longer a place to send newcomers. You could get rid of all of these assets, stick to BTC and ETH and cut 80-90% of your workforce.
@twobitidiot Additionally, they are alleging that Grayscale violated provisions of the Trust Agreement, by not providing access to accounting records and withholding other key information.
@twobitidiot The TLDR is that Fir Tree represents funds that cumulatively hold 1.95 million shares of $GBTC, and are alleging that entire mechanism of withholding redemptions is purely out of self-interest - not regulatory compliance, and are suing for broad information on related-party tx.
@coryswan@PeterSchiff@SBF_FTX If you actually look at the $COIN filings you'll see that 69% of their revenue comes from trading unregistered securities. And a full 20% of their revenue is from interest on their multi-billion dollar cash position. #Bitcoin is a very small part of Coinbase's business model.
@ramahluwalia There is a campaign underway to paint $SI as criminals. I have no horse in race but I think that it's interesting that both $SI and $COIN are down almost exactly 85% this year, being very different businesses. Seems bearish narrative is considering price action & inferring story.
@saylor It appears FTX/Alameda took customer's real #bitcoin and sold it. This is obvious from the bankruptcy filings listing >$1 billion in BTC liabilities and 0 - yes, zero - bitcoin assets on their balance sheet. Implication is that they dumped > 100,000 BTC, likely to pump Solana etc
@TheFeeneyFactor@saylor@Grayscale Saylor has 3 years until his first $650mm convert comes due. 40% of the float is already short on $MSTR. If $GBTC goes nuclear and somehow DCG is so colossally underwater (criminally) that Grayscale has to liquidate, it would be a rapid & necessary structural cleansing.
@saylor@tier10k The entire Bahamian high-end real estate market was held up by crypto fraudsters. Outside of snorkeling, seems like there isn't anything to do in Nassau except commit white collar crimes.
@ramahluwalia Most relevant is the $650mm convert due 2025, 0.75% https://t.co/0qFMKG13Ew, trading at about 60 cents on the dollar - https://t.co/VwhCzn8tmH.
