An Axomiya with a growing passion for finance, business, and economics. I love diving into India’s timeless knowledge systems and discovering our ancient wisdom
▶️ QNu Labs, in collaboration with Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo‑informatics (BISAG‑N) and IIT Gandhinagar, has successfully demonstrated India’s first free‑space Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) link at a scale of 5.56 km
▶️ The field trial, conducted on the night of September 27–28, established a secure quantum communication channel between BISAG‑N and IIT Gandhinagar
▶️ Using QNu Labs’ Pointing, Acquisition and Tracking system, the trial achieved a stable Quantum Bit Error Rate below 5% and generated secure keys at a rate of 230–260 bps
▶️ The trial provides a foundation for advancing India’s capabilities in secure communication infrastructure, strengthening resilience against emerging quantum‑era security threats

⚠️ New details on what happened inside the Flydubai cockpit, in Captain Smit Machchar’s own account to the Israeli PM:
1️⃣ The flight was normal. The co-pilot said he wanted to pray, something Machchar says was not unusual among local pilots.
2️⃣ Machchar faced forward while the co-pilot prayed behind him.
3️⃣ Four or five minutes later, Machchar says he was suddenly struck hard on the back of his head.
4️⃣ His first thought was catastrophic aircraft damage. Then the blows kept coming. He realised it was the co-pilot attacking him.
5️⃣ The initial blows left his vision severely blurred. He tried to fight back, but says he could barely see.
6️⃣ His next sensation was the aircraft plunging sharply. His memory of these moments remains fragmented.
7️⃣ He recalls managing to open the cockpit door once, but says the co-pilot apparently shut it again.
8️⃣ Lying on the cockpit floor, he could hear the aircraft rushing through the air and passengers screaming.
9️⃣ Machchar says he realised he had “one last fight” left. His thought was brutally simple: if he didn’t act, he was going to die.
🔟 He threw everything he had into reaching and opening the cockpit door. People outside were waiting to pounce. They entered, control was regained.

Clarification regarding closure of Call for Proposal under Research Development & Innovation (RDI) Scheme by Technology Development Board (TDB)
Certain media report published yesterday (30th Sept.) claiming shortage of fund as the reason for closure of #RDI call by #TDB is not correct.
@tdbgoi has closed its running call purely due to “Administrative Reason” as notified on its website. Due to massive influx of project proposals, TDB has decided to take a “PAUSE”& closed its call for the time being which will reopen shortly after assessment of all projects received till 30th Sept. 2026. The Investment Committee (IC) & TDB are working overnight to complete the evaluation process expeditiously.
There is absolutely no shortage of fund for disbursement to ETEs.
The @IndiaDST / @ANRFIndia is in the process of assigning several other SLFM also in the very near future.

An interesting conversation I had with our investor @IdeaspringCap about India’s AI ecosystem, VC funding for deep-tech startups, and what we’re building at @LatentForceHQ. A lot has changed over the last few years, and mostly for the better. I started LF with my ex-students from @iitdelhi, @Maxaravind, and @vinay_kyat86968.
Some journalists has perfected the new model of journalism: manufacture fake news today, apologise tomorrow, repeat next week.
Heard this is going to become a trend.
