@FrenlyOfficer Yes, this is true, but it misses out on a central point:
People can discuss which interpretation makes the most sense, using any evidence, including the author's intended meaning or their thoughts on the subject. Both are true. Seems you just poorly defend your position.
@nairebis907@M1das_OW2 Furthermore, the whole point of doing @gork__1 (as it was originally) was to make fun of the fact that everyone would do @grok and ask easy to answer questions-We never wanted some guy named “Gorkem Safik” to answer, it was about the parody, not getting an actual “witty” response
@nairebis907@M1das_OW2 No, he didn’t. An account with the @/gork used to be an inactive account “Gorkem Safik” but now that individual is @gork__1 instead of just @/gork
@Frozenturbome@TheAverageProto @DespairNicky I assume you were young, and plenty of nostalgia comes from the discovery and unknowns that you go through alongside memories made with friends+family.
You can still feel that way; you have to let yourself. Building, exploring feels better in memory as it's from simpler times.
@SuboptimalAGI@nikicaga And if you're referring to the simple regulations on a lumen/watt ratio, then I don't really see what there is to be upset about.
They're not banned. You can still get them. It's just regulated. Like every other thing that can be dangerous.
@SuboptimalAGI@nikicaga ...and if people want LED lighting, they should be able to do THAT free of government interference.
That is, if you agree with the quoted tweet. Who the fuck cares. You can still buy incandescent.
@jonsommet@SketchMay@harythilmy The whole balance of progress over the history of our inventive lives exists in the (necessary) struggle between innovation and restriction.
Stopping to think about what we're doing can be very necessary, and I would encourage anybody to take the optimistic/cautious thought.
@jonsommet@realest_phantom@wildfireluffy Are you pro-choice, by chance? Just curious, given that this exact thing is why many people get abortions (their situations don't allow for a good environment for a child,) and the banning of abortion could easily lead to poverty and a poor living environment.
@gubbastronaut@Jacksepticeye Unfortunately he blocked me.
I can tell I've hit the nail on the head- I hope you can heal from that pain. I would've liked to talk more.
@gubbastronaut@Jacksepticeye I feel like someone close to you who surrounded themselves in art hurt you in some way.
Or I've read you entirely wrong, but you are "correct" in that you've stated your opinion. I disagree with it, but you can be "right."
How do things like theatre play into that opinion?
@notolymp1a@Jacksepticeye Yet, there is undeniable beauty in the act of creation. Why do we appreciate the rehearsal? Why is "How hard you can get hit and get back up again" so compelling? All of our lives are spent mangled in the process.
It feels silly to dismiss it out of hand.
@Revolushun12@morlando616@Jacksepticeye To be clear, I don't necessarily think you're wrong about the impact AI can have, but in the same way people hesitant on cars made the roads safer by bringing valid concerns about the cars, AI faces the same two-way-street.
We need to be conservative sometimes. It balances.
