@FatesLandia I don't think anyone's complaining about the numerical requirements, just how tedious it is to physically do it.
If you could just give gifts to everyone off a seamless menu without teleporting and do all your weeklies in a single location it would solve 99% of the problem
@LLCharlesYGO It's fun in the honeymoon period where you feel like you can do anything, but it inevitably gets (more) solved and we end up seeing the exact same list over and over. I don't think a handful of tech choices is enough to really call it diverse.
@mdg_11@Speedrobo Was going to say I'm shocked MTG hasn't gotten any kind of anime or show to compete with YGO/Pokemon, before remembering that's exactly what wotc wanted Duel Masters to be lol
No wonder DM outsells MTG globally
@YouGayHoe420 The biggest issue is that games only last two turns
Floodgates are way less of an issue when you actually have enough turns in a duel to unironically draw the out or play around it
Look at Edison for example. Skill Drain, D Fissue/Macro, Oppression, etc all legal and still rogue
@zooratpier Half of those are battle tricks, you're not dropping fader/trag turn 0
The rest are way less impactful, crow/veiler are incomparable to droll/charmies that end duels on the spot
Not to mention it all matters so much less when you're almost guaranteed to hit Turn 3+ EVERY game
@FatesHyperSpace I think the center-column mechanic is genuinely cool and flavorful but so many of these creative archetypes just degenerate into slop and lose their core identity and stop being cool.
Not really an Elfnote-exclusive issue, it happens to everything.
@InnerCrest Everyone conveniently forgets Droll & Lock Bird is from 2010. It's almost two decades old, but only magically became a """problem""" in the past couple of years.
We're long past the issue being single cards, it's a fundamental and systematic design problem at this point.
@Speedrobo Master Duel was like the fifth most-played game on Steam the week it released.
Its current off-days still have twice MTG Arena's all-time peak playercount.
@has199orstuff@pakofficialtcg People saying Maxx C is less fair because of the going-first thing are history revisionists.
99% of reactions on Master Duel Day 1 were people complaining about Maxx C after winning the coin flip. Not sure when the script magically flipped.
@TheBystialLube The entire point of archetypes existing and cards like Pot of Green being banned is to prevent exactly this from happening, fundamentally.
You can't have it both ways.
@ProgramDown@Forgot2Heal I'm pretty sure it's designed around not actually expecting you to recruit that many
The actual gameplay flow gets 100% better if you just hard ignore everyone other than the 3-4 dudes you actually want/need
@atrocityTCG It doesn't matter if it's healthy or toxic or both, it pushes the envelope in a format where the main issue is how pushed the envelope already is.
@ashterissk My issue is how exhausting it is.
Having to walk/teleport to like 50 dudes every single week, clicking through the same generic dialogue, giving them a random flavor of beer, then doing three other box-checking activities isn't engaging.
The Renown and Quests are fine, but man.
