As President Trump says, the SAVE America Act requires photo ID and proof of citizenship to vote. Here’s the problem: only five U.S. states offer Real IDs that meet those requirements.

That means, in Pennsylvania and 44 other states, you would not be allowed to vote without a passport or both a birth certificate and photo ID.

This puts the ballot box behind a paywall, making our elections less free and less fair. That’s why this bill is the wrong approach.
