'Iran must,' but apparently the US must not.
When you have zero influence on the outcome, but still want to flag submission to Washington.
We need a Europe that says: the US must end its illegal acts of aggression.
I welcome the progress towards an agreement between the US and Iran.
We need a deal that truly de-escalates the conflict, reopens the Strait of Hormuz and guarantees toll free full freedom of navigation.
Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.
It must also end its destabilising actions in the region, directly or through proxies, as well as its unjustified and repeated attacks on its neighbours.
Europe will continue working with international partners to seize this moment for a lasting diplomatic solution.
And to contain the spillover of this conflict, notably on supply chains and energy prices.

ââWhat are you partnering with?ââ
MEP @BotengaM accuses EU leaders of âactive complicityâ in funding and arming Israel while it commits âthe worst crimes possible under international law.â
Marc Botenga tells me about the âdeep embeddednessâ of Israelâs broader project of colonization in the European system â and why the EU could exert massive pressure by suspending its preferential trade agreement, but refuses to act.

Europe's militarisation drive will guarantee neither peace and security nor economic prosperity. Alternatives exist, but Europe needs to change.

Are EU sanctions on violent settlers enough?
A prominent member of the European Parliament, Marc Botenga, joins Ghida Fakhry on Bigger Than Five to discuss public pressure, colonial ties, and the fight against impunity
The EU has no Middle East strategy because *checks notes* there's too much going on in the Middle East. You can't make this up. This is the EU foreign policy chief. In 2026.
How can Europe protect itself in an time of global instability?
This week on #TheRing, Euronews' weekly debate show we tackle this topic with MEPs Lukas Mandl and Marc Botenga.
Watch tonight at 20.30 CET on Euronews.
Those in the European Parliament who are the first to give lectures on democracy just uncritically applauded a delegation from the UAE that has neither real elections, nor a legislative parliament, and is accused of sponsoring the worst war crimes. Shocking double standards —ïž
The Left called for a debate "Israelâs airstrikes in Lebanon, the urgent need to uphold the ceasefire & EUâs responsibility to prevent further escalation"
Once again, the đȘđșParliament chooses complicity with Netanyahuâs regime by rejecting it
Suspend the UE-Israel agreement NOW
EU Foreign Ministers just gave the go-ahead to sanction Israeli settlers over violence against Palestinians.
They also agreed new sanctions on leading Hamas figures.
It was high time we move from deadlock to delivery.
Extremisms and violence carry consequences.
