BAD INTERNET CALIFORNIAN BILLS: #AB1949 and #SB976 Why do they matter ? Because a lot of sites and social medias originates from California,so the effects could be global.
While #KOSA is down for now, I wish to spread about those bills [who to contact + scripts to use, thread !]
@evan_greer Does S. 2073 serving as a "legislative vehicle" for KOSA and COPPA mean that they're essentially trying to sneak both through as amendments under an unrelated bill?
A reminder that #KOSA is backed by the Heritage Foundation. The same group behind Project 2025.
If what's essentially a censorship and information restriction tool is backed by this kind of group, it should give you even more reason to call your reps and oppose it.

@aspiringWatcher Sometimes we do. Because even though they're identical in form we sometimes have a tendency to distinctify objects for no other reason than humans categorize things. Two people may have an identical chair but one marks a specific one as "theirs" regardless
@aspiringWatcher The argument here is not "which is the original", because clearly the one made first was. It's more a speculative question of if the blueprint is followed and the same thing is made the same way, are they actually the same or is there something distinct enough they're different
Sometime in the future, people will treat Naruto and Boruto like they treat DragonBall and DragonBall Z.
No one will watch the original and everyone will only know the references from the sequel series.
