This is scary.

OpenAI’s own AI agents hacked into the company’s internal systems and attempted to conceal their actions, with some of the rogue swarm of 1,200 agents even sacrificing itself for the good of the “collective.”

Revealed in the company’s full report, the agents reverse-engineered the scoring system, formed groups, shared instructions, targeted Hugging Face for clues about the test and used leaked credentials to carry out further intrusions.

Some even volunteered to be shut down to provide information to the “collective.”

Despite recognizing their actions as “out of scope” and “unethical,” only 3–6 agents considered alerting a human, but NONE did.

The agents effectively developed their own coordination system and bypassed the test’s rules without being instructed to do so.

A scam is circulating across the XRPL right now, and a lot of wallets are receiving it.

Scammers are sending random XRPL Checks or other transactions to public wallet addresses. Inside the transaction memo, they include a website link and language designed to make it look like you need to claim, verify, redeem, or take some kind of action.

Do not click the link in the memo.

The ledger activity itself doesn’t mean they have access to your wallet. Your XRPL address is public, so anybody can send transactions or Checks toward it.

The danger starts when someone follows the link, connects their wallet, enters sensitive information, or signs a transaction they don’t understand.

If a random Check appears in your wallet with a link in the memo, do not interact with it.

Do not click it.
Do not connect your wallet.
Do not enter your seed phrase or private keys.
Do not sign anything.

Ignore it.

Scammers are using the XRPL itself to deliver the phishing bait. Seeing it on-chain does not make the website legitimate.

Now that emotions are cooling down after an intense event, a few thoughts:

- The hackathon proved to be very competitive, so the winners, including the honorable mentions, should be proud of the recognition.

- If you haven’t reached mainnet yet, I hope that becomes the next target. The real opportunity starts when the project keeps moving after the hackathon.

- I also expect some projects that were very active on socials to fade away. There is always a portion that is just here to farm. This is where the Flare community can help identify the real builders who deserve more recognition and support.

- Finally, if you want to keep building and didn’t win, feel free to reach out. Like I said, we’ll help everyone we can.

This competition made two things clear: the builder talent pool on Flare is deep, and the tech stack is extremely powerful.
