I think it's worse than this TBH. Some are incapable of respecting others, of respecting the diversity of opinion that exists in a democracy. They see other points of view as simply evil, being made by 'murderers' etc. They make everything divisive. They act like children.
@snj_1970 IMO there's no halting progress, all we can do is hope that as we move forward we correct our mistakes - tho I wish things were different I often think that rushing to the future is probably for the best and the only way to correct course in time to prevent disaster
Having popped back with recent rain, Twitter seems to me to be made up of two camps the mad and the mad and the cute cats. I'm in all five.
Anyway, I'm on a break...
@basileurodance She can't, or doesn't want to, get her head around the fact that people do understand and have a right to a different opinion on the risk and the impact it has on their way of life. She seems to think it's ok to dictate to others and tries to dress this up as 'sensible' advice.
I sometimes think that smart people don't live enough - they perceive and value risks too greatly (believing understanding these is the essence of smart/etc). What they miss is the value of fun/life. For eg all sport is full of injury risk yet it adds such value to life.
Since the pandemic, the finger-wagging Stay Safe class has been hideously emboldened, imposing ever barmier, professional standards on cheerful gatherings organised by volunteers @AllisonPearson
So much red tape

@deeharvey I think the current ones get massively abused by people who don't need the protection - should be there for the little guys only in my opinion. It'll never happen of course but personally I dislike it greatly. Life is all about copying if you ask me.
For me copyright and IP laws sum up all that's wrong with our societies. They empower the rich and wealthy, create monopolies/super profits and delay progress. Life is all about copying - it's how we learn.
Says a man determined to bring down others...human nature for those seeking popularity and fame it seems. I guess we get the governments we deserve and why there seem to be so few good guys out there.
