🧵 The UK can’t call its arms licensing system ‘robust’ when UK-made components have been found in weapons used in Sudan.
The United Arab Emirates is a known supplier of arms to conflict zones like Sudan and Libya. Yet, the UK kept approving arms sales.
There is an emergency press conference taking place right now (online) with NGO's about the situation in El Fasher. Pretty harrowing stuff. One person said what is happening in El Fasher in past 48 hours is akin to Rwanda 1994 in the scale of mass killings perpetrated by RSF against civilians.
🚨HUMAN SECURITY EMERGENCY🚨
Day 2: RSF continues mass killings in El Fasher: @HRL_YaleSPH finds evidence of mass killings at RSF-controlled former Children’s Hospital, Saudi Hospital and along the berm.

People of El Fasher, those still alive after the past 24 hours of killing + 18 months of UAE backed siege, need more than concerns from western governments. They need rescue from genocide. It’s time to turn all the screws on UAE to stop them before there is no one left to save.
The horrors in Darfur’s El-Fasher were no accident — they were the RSF's plan all along. The RSF has waged terror and committed unspeakable atrocities, genocide among them, against the Sudanese people. The RSF must be called what it is: a foreign terrorist organization and officially designated as one. America is not safer, secure or more prosperous with the RSF slaughtering thousands.
There is evidence the UAE backed RSF is engaged in mass murder in El-Fashar in Darfur.
Why is the U.S. allowing the UAE - which we fund militarily - help the brutal RSF engage in mass atrocity?
FYI - this isn't just about Trump - the Biden Admin was letting this happen too.
The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have taken Sudanese journalist Muammar Ibrahim captive in el-Fasher, raising deep concerns for his safety.
Advocacy groups are demanding the release of the Al Jazeera Mubasher contributor.
The escalating violence in Al Fasher, Sudan, is extremely dangerous for the estimated 130,000 children who remain trapped, surrounded by heavy fighting, relentless shelling, and critical shortages of food, safe water, and medicine.
Children are at risk of being separated from their families, injured and exposed to continued grave violations of their rights.
We urgently call for an immediate ceasefire and safe, unimpeded humanitarian access to all affected populations. Civilians, including children, must be protected at all times. Those who wish to move to safer areas must be guaranteed safe passage, in line with international humanitarian law.
Those responsible for violations must be held to account.
The RSF would not be able to support itself without the support it gets from the UAE, which is functionally a U.S. client state.
It is no surprise that the same actors supporting Israeli genocide in Palestine are supporting the same violence in Sudan. It is deeply connected.
Children are starving in Sudan’s el-Fasher amid 500+ days of deadly attacks and drone strikes.
Local rights groups say around 30 people die each day from hunger, violence or disease.
#Sudan: The UN Human Rights Office is receiving multiple, alarming reports that the Rapid Support Forces are carrying out atrocities, including summary executions, after seizing control of large parts of the besieged city of El Fasher, North Darfur & of Bara city in North Kordofan state in recent days.
We need urgent, concrete action to protect civilians seeking safe passage from El Fasher and Bara in Sudan. States with influence must act to prevent atrocities by RSF and allied fighters; accountability is key.

I’ve seen numerous videos I can’t share here showing RSF brutally massacring civilians attempting to flee El Fasher in North Darfur.
Many warned this would happen if the RSF entered the city, yet it seems the world remains indifferent to the tragedy unfolding in Sudan 🇸🇩.
Sudanese journalist Muammar Ibrahim has been detained by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as they advanced in el-Fasher, raising concerns about his safety and prompting calls for his release https://t.co/yM8hbFq0CH

US sanctions against ICC officials—the Prosecutor, Deputy Prosecutors, and six judges—are not just a stain on this US administration and a flagrant attack on the international rule of law, but also a crime (an offence against the administration of justice) under the ICC Statute.
