Cool (and informative) new feature coming with the next update to the @RightEdgeGolf Putt Tracker simulation software. π
A "live" view of your Strokes Gained (SG) putting numbers (compared to others with similar handicap index) while you practice.
@StevenRWilson72@mitchellvii You asked a question. The point of the analogy was to illustratively answer your question. You apparently didn't get it.
Reclining your seat in coach is a selfish/jerk move, but you have every right to do it - just like leaving your shopping cart in the lot.
Get it now?
@StevenRWilson72@mitchellvii People who don't see anything wrong with reclining their seat in coach are the people who don't see anything wrong with leaving their shopping cart out in the middle of the grocery store parking lot.
@InvestPressure@kingscoriox@DanielPriestley I didn't link "bailing out" and socialism.
I said government OWNING ("taking a stake in") corporations is socialism.
And it (gov't owning the means of production) literally IS an element of socialism.
That's not me making up a label for something.
You know "crony capitalism" isn't a real thing, right?
"Crony capitalism" is just a label ...A label made up for the sake of politics (to spur opposition to policy).
The policies to which it's attached are real, but just because some political opposition included the word "capitalism" when they made up the label doesn't IN ANY WAY actually make it capitalism (or even capitalism adjacent).
Kinda like when North Korea named (labelled) themselves the "DEMOCRATIC People's Republic of Korea." Just because they labelled themselves "Democratic," doesn't mean they are a democracy in any shape or form.
@jamierkennedy Golfers (in general) have made it clear that they're suckers for logos.
No idea why golfers seem to be acutely susceptible to the phenomenon, but it is what it is.
And given that fact, IMO, it's hard to say anyone making a logo in relation to golf has "gone too far."
@InvestPressure@kingscoriox@DanielPriestley "protecting and giving companies more power through liquidity injections and bailouts"
That is the opposite of capitalism. All true capitalist opposed that.
[Btw, gov't bailouts (at least in the last 30 yrs) involved the gov't taking a stake in the company. That is socialism.]
@RtrnSanity I would absolutely love it if that were true, but unfortunately I can't see it playing out like that anywhere where both parties are organized (ie national level).
@drakesmith__ I've found that unless I'm on a really smooth green, I have trouble getting the line exactly right (without taking too much time and annoying my playing partners).
That's the reason I've never committed to making it a part of my routine.
Fighting to "preserve the union" .... sans slavery though.
With slavery, there would have been no fighting necessary to preserve the union.
So, effectively, they were fighting to end slavery in the current form of the union.
@Chels1an@drakesmith__ Spot on. For almost all amateurs, once reasonably decent striking the ball, chipping/putting quickly becomes the "low hanging fruit" (biggest opportunity for scoring gains relative to time/effort).
@Top100Rick I don't think his problem there was his process/routine.
He seemed to be internally struggling with some mental issue/situation/condition (minor panic attack, anxiety, etc.) there.
