UPDATE:
"I keep thinking 'just one more putt,' but it's like a drug!"
"That's the coolest feature."
"I can't stop using it now!"
We've never gotten feedback like this before from our testers, and so we're super excited to announce that this feature is now available for all Right Edge Putt Tracker users in the latest update to our simulation software.
And still no subscription required!
6 Foot Putting Ladder Drill:
The purpose of this drill is to teach you distance control to the point where you have the chance to make your putt and reduce the chance you will 3 putt.
Place a tee or ball at 6-12-18-24-30 ft from the hole
and a club 3 ft behind hole.
Hit a putt at each distance from the hole
attempting to make the putt or get the ball past
the hole but WITHOUT touching/passing the club.
Great way to train speed control, process, and focus.
Such an important point by @BigSwingTempo. 👇
Regardless of how good you are, you're going to hit some bad shots.
For most, a bad tee-to-green shot = missed green = automatic +1 stroke.
But with a solid/good short game, you have a backup plan. A few bad shots no longer ruins your whole round.
And while both are obviously important, relatively speaking, it's so much easier to be a good putter than it is to be a good ball striker.

Yesterday I got paired with a + handicap who played in college. It was the first time I played with someone that skill level.
It was one of the most valuable learning experiences I’ve had so far.
Here’s what I learned:
1) I added a new shot to the bag.
There was a par 3 where we both put it in the water. Dropped, and I watched how he hit a wedge to the pin.
Short backswing, used his wrists to accelerate through the ball, short follow through. Light bulb moment, he was trying to control the spin.
“Speed = spin. If you shorten your swing but add speed, you can have the same distances with more spin”
He went first, and I tried doing the same thing he did. We both ended 8 feet from the pin. Might have been the most spin I’ve had, it was a 60 yard shot but it landed past the pin and spun back.
2) Wind affected the shot shape he tried to hit off the tee.
It was eye opening the skill level involved playing the “best” strategy given any shot.
I learned how to aim based off the direction of the wind. With a right to left wind playing a draw, aim more right to the right side of the rough. Was able to keep tee balls in play more than I usually do.
3) His short game and ability to recover was next level. Really emphasized how important that part of the game is.
“If you can learn how to pin seek from 40 yards in, your first few shots become less important”
He didn’t have perfect tee shots or approach shots, but his ability to scramble made him par almost every hole.
We're all busy with jobs, family, life.
Because of that, when we invest our valuable time practicing to improve our golf game, we need to be most efficient with that time and maximize our return (score improvement / time invested).
Ross helps with that. 👇
@MidwestGolfJake How's your putting these days, Jake? Have you been keeping it dialed in with the Putt Tracker?
Many double bogeys can be avoided by making that 6-10' bogey-saving putt. Just sayin'. 😎
As usual, Ross is spot on! 👇
1. Watch a few of Ross's videos.
2. Determine which point(s) of his lessons/advice would help your putting the most.
3. Keep your putter where it's easily accessible at home, and spend 10-20 mins/day striking putts and focusing on those points.
If you have limited practice time then you’re not alone. Most golfers have families/jobs
But putting practice can be done at home. 10-20mins every day or two could go a long way over time
Throw some training aids, balls, tees, alignment sticks down to help. So many options 😃
They say "necessity is the mother of invention," and it certainly was in my case.
My golf game was stuck treading water around a 6-7 index for a couple of years, and I knew my putting was a "low hanging fruit" if I could just find some time to work on it...
"If there was just some device that:
1. Has a small footprint that I could take/use anywhere.
2. Takes no time to set up / start so even a free 10 minutes can = 10 minutes of putting.
3. I could set the green speed, and it would accurately show me how far each putt rolls out on that green.
Then I wouldn't have to go to the course to practice and dial in my distance control."
With golf tech blowing up, I was honestly surprised nothing like this existed already.
So I built it.
And so far it's helped lower my 6-7 index by ~50% (was as low as a 3.2 at the end of last season before a couple opening season rounds this year pulled me up a bit)
Sorry for the shameless plug, but 1) It's just been really cool to actually get the results I was hoping to get when I started this journey; and 2) I know there are a ton of other golfers out there that it could help just like it helped me.
@engineeringolf Yep. And as a follower, that's easy to see. Your content is super interesting and very much appreciated. You are the opposite of the problem. Lol
Heads up for anyone who's been considering lowering their golf scores with improved putting:
We're soon transitioning our Simulation and Analysis software to a subscription model, and offering this amazing deal for anyone who purchases before then.

@MyGolfSpy Regardless of how you rank the other majors/tournaments, none translate (look as good) to the television as the Masters.
So, not only did it have big names at the top, but it just looks so appealing on the TV.
IOW, as far as golf goes, it's an easy watch.
"Do you guys have a GSPro connector for the Right Edge Putt Tracker?"
We get this question a lot, and very soon the answer will be "YES!"
(Also working on a GSPro connector for integrating full-swing launch monitor AND our Putt Tracker together with GSPro)
