@bot1066@RWApodcast Yes, that's how I understand the expression as well. And it's pretty clear from my first tweet that that is how
I was using it. @RWApodcast, by fanboying a doomed war aimed at annexation, and targeted at civilians with ghastly results, is on the wrong side of history.
If the Kremlin wanted to intimidate the West with this "mobilization," it's a total failure.
What's happening now only exposes the Russian military as even more chaotic, systemically flawed, primitive, and heavy-handed than we expected it to be.
@RWApodcast It's not that Russian is a "goofy" villain. It's that it's willing to inflict barbaric assaults directly on civilian areas in order to pretend it has a chance of "winning" and to lick Putin's tattered ego. How many tens, hundreds of thousands—on both sides—must die for that?
@RWApodcast Sure, send tens of thousands more young men to die so that Putin can pretend he's Peter the Great. All while turning the world against you (btw, China and India are not happy, either). Cut your losses and get out before more ruin and humiliation.
@unprediic @Corey65099 @clevererguy@RWApodcast Sorry, but this is a ridiculous comparison. The forces that Germany brought to WW2 are a tiny fraction of what the west would do to Russia if forced by Russia's use of unconventional or nuclear weapons. Russia as we know it would be destroyed, as Putin is aware.
@unprediic @Corey65099 @clevererguy@RWApodcast Russia knows that in a war with the west, Russia is utterly destroyed. Russia has displayed all sorts of bad judgement, but it's not on a suicide mission.
@unprediic @Corey65099 @clevererguy@RWApodcast First of all, you are a sick person to suggest that. Second, this is a red line, and if Russia did so, 300 conventional missiles from the west would very quickly take out all essential Russian infrastructure across the entire country, which Putin knows. Otherwise, great idea!
QUIET HERO: Yulia Paevska served as a medic during the siege of Mariupol and was captured after the fall of the Asovstal plant. Today, she testified before Congress about her 3 months in Russian captivity, where she endured daily torture & witnessed the murder of Ukrainian POWs.
@RWApodcast Hmm, I think most people would be at least this upset if an invading army came into their country and started slaughtering and starving their fellow citizens
