@RyanPatrickOl @bmitori the double action pull on a revolver might be beat by a glock but the single action pull is hard to beat. i have a preference for hammer fired semi automatic handguns with a finer trigger, trigger feel is definitely very important when you are talking about accuracy in a pinch.

It definitely true that penetration is more important than people realize against such an animal. Fortunately there are loads specifically for use against dangerous game. If i were in alaska id probably be most likely to pack a full size 10mm just because i know im comfortable enough with it to land my shots, and there are many loads with sufficient penetration for bear.

@NaviGoBoom @Kray0n5 Bear attacks aren't as common as crimes that occur in dense populations, but if you live where all the bears are it requires some consideration. Shark attacks are rare but if i was diving id be more worried about sharks than someone trying to mug me.
