Just for fun I’ve cut AFLM season to 7 rounds + 2 weeks of finals. Teams split into 2 conferences based on 2018 H&A ladder. Next week’s prelims, 1v2 crossovers: Coll v Freo (MCG); Geel v GWS (GMHBA). Good luck! #5minswork
@fionalamby @womeninsportau@tracethekick@AFLSydney@GWSGIANTS Good that you've now added her & her achievements. Don't know much about NSW coaches so she wasn't on my radar. Seems to me female coaches often hope to be noticed for quietly doing a good job. Maybe players & fans can help them bang the drum.
@womeninsportau I get so mad when I hear people say there aren't enough experienced, qualified or quality female coaches for the top jobs in AFLW. Not saying the field should be exclusively female but it definitely shouldn't be exclusively male.
@womeninsportau Sure, just don't know much about her as a coach & younger than most of the others? Alicia Eva coming up, too, but am thinking of women capable right now. Martine Pearman should also be mentioned with original listing.
@womensfootyfans Yes, I'd thought Peta Searle as well but not sure it's been confirmed. I found stories titling her Saints' head of women's football, head coach of Southern Saints & saying she was a shoo-in for the AFLW role. But nothing definite I could see.
@catswomens Bravo, Audrey! Fascinating. Loved photo of player having tackled another to the ground, showing willingness to play hard - a constant of female footy historically.
@MishCowan@aflwomens Yes to Erin Phillips as winner but think Kiara Bowers will be outright 2nd & Ash Brazill 3rd. Wouldn't be surprised to see Maddy Prespakis in top 5.
