🚨 California just voted to pass AB 2624 aka “The Stop Nick Shirley Act”:
This bill puts journalists at civil risk for investigating fraud and makes it harder to expose fraud in “immigration support services,” including NGOs, nonprofits and health care facilities that receive hundreds of millions from the state of California each year.
This bill would have made it criminal to expose fake hospices in LA or the Somali “learing center” in Minnesota if they then claim “reasonable fear” and the business owner gives a written demand not to post the video.
Plain and simple, California is trying to make it harder to expose fraud and scare individuals from investigating fraud in their communities, as they could be sued for an injunction to remove the video + forced to pay their attorney fees + minimum $4,000 in damages.
The Attorney General's wife, Mia Bonta, created this bill and is now trying to make it law. How is this not a conflict of interest?
California is full of FRAUDSTERS!
@rektdiomedes We had a session yesterday. We all get on discord for video, mainly use dnbeyond for players/map and I have notes etc through obsidian. Also run it through cowork to help flesh out stores/scenarios etc.
Time zones are hard tho. 2 play between 1-3pm. 3@ 10pm-12am. 2@ 7am-9am
@rektdiomedes@psyopsec_ltd Have a dnd campaign with best friends for over 8 years now. 3 major time zone changes and we all make a plan and get together 2x virtually a month. Without that I know we would connect considerably less. Partners of each friend are also in it. It rocks.
@masonnystrom Adverts are the absolute worst. Especially adverts that you are forced to watch. It’s the second biggest net waste of collective human time second to traffic. The arrogance that advertisers have to feel they know where to best use someone’s else’s time is diabolical. @claudeai
@TheFlowHorse If it were to occur, then frankly there would be much bigger problems. The entire web/internet ecosystems as a whole, not to mention financial systems would break. Online security as a whole would break. Much bigger problems than BTC when that occurs.
@newmichwill@CurveFinance@yieldbasis I hope so. I mean the alternative would be something like having to ask to reconnect your wallet on every page refresh and the ux there would be horrendous.
