The Prophet ﷺ, passed by a woman crying over the grave of her son or a relative, and he ﷺ said fear Allah and be patient. She said, “Stay away from me, for you have not suffered like my calamity.” So, the Prophet ﷺ left her and went away. When she was told that he was the Prophet ﷺ, this alarmed her and she began to pursue the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, until she found him in his house and began to say apologetically: O Messenger of Allah, I did not know it was you. O Messenger of Allah, I did not know it was you. So, he said to her the Prophet ﷺ Indeed patience is only at the first shock.
We are patient with the decree of Allah. We are patient with the bitterness of Qadar, because we know that Allah is Wise and Knowing, and that the worshippers belong to Allah, and that Allah is our Lord, so He does with us whatever He wills, Glory be to Him, and we are certain that He does not do anything except out of wisdom. We are patient with the bitterness of Qadar because the one who afflicted us with this calamity is the one who bestowed upon us all the blessings. We are patient with the bitterness of Qadar because we hope for a reward from Allah the Almighty.
