And finally, the big one - OFSTED are now inspecting schools and downgrading them because their “curriculum is not well embedded enough” taking no account of the past two years of pandemic disruption and teaching two classrooms in one - home learners and in school.

@LBC Two year ECT programme now means schools have to find the time and HR resources to mentor them for two years now, rather than one year under the NQT programme. This puts new teachers and their schools under more pressure.

Funding has been cut for the Schools Direct programme which means schools have to find more of the money themselves and therefore reduces the chances for people to ‘earn while they train’
