1) Statement on the Passing of Garda Kevin Flatley
It is with deep sadness that we at the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service have learned of the tragic passing of Garda Kevin Flatley, who lost his life while on duty in Dublin this afternoon.

We continue to provide crew to carry out missing persons search operations in Trim, Co Meath.
This is a multi agency response with the hope to provide closure to a family of a missing loved one.

3) Shortly after 10 am and on the 16th day of the search, our team concluded the search with a recovery from the water.

🧵1) On St. Stephen’s Day, We were contacted on by a family in ardee who had a loved one missing since December 11th.

As you can imagine, having a loved one missing at this time of the year can be very hard because it's a time of the year when all family should be together.

2) Gathering all the details and forming a plan of action with the resources we have available, a team left Drogheda at first light on Friday morning to be in Ardee for 9am to conduct a search on the river Dee.

This morning we continue to assist in search operations in Galway bay.

A team of divers will conduct an underwater search in the hope of locating Máire Ní Fhátharta who was reported missing from Silverstrand beach on Tuesday following a swimming incident.

1) Emergency paging system was activated last night (Thursday) shortly before 23:55pm.

The team was requested to assist in a missing person search in the Townley Hall area just outside of Drogheda.

2) We mobilised 3 land teams with thermal imaging units, an inshore rescue boat and our swift water raft.

After a period of searching, the team located the casualty and transferred them to our boathouse on Marsh Road.

3) The Flag day is a memorial flag day in remembrance of Paul Mckenny (6) who was lost in the river Dee on 9th November 1998 and has been held yearly on his anniversary.

1) Ardee Flag Day today !

The Boyne Fishermen's Rescue Service will be in Ardee, Saturday 2nd November from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. for the Annual Paul Mckenny Flag Day.

We will have one of our rescue boats on display on the Main Street.

2) This Flag day, has been a long standing collection event for the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue Service, involves members of the public putting a donation into one of our volunteer held buckets wherever they see one.
