Went and saw this late last night after Nuggets Wolves and it was the best horror movie I’ve seen in years. Maybe since The Conjuring. Legit covering my eyes and crying out in fear in the theater. Adam Scott was incredible. Highly recommended

Hokum is genuinely terrifying, yes. But more so than that, the mystery and folklore behind those scares are what makes the movie. I haven’t shed a tear of emotional release during a horror movie in a long time. I’ll be rewatching this for years to come. #Hokum
I was so terrified while watching 'Hokum' that writer-director Damian Mc Carthy just might have shortened my lifespan. That said, this is one hell of a horror movie. My review: https://t.co/9NCKLHFytU
With 'Hokum', writer-director Damian Mc Carthy has not only delivered his best movie yet, but also a horror experience that is a strong contender for the most frightening movie of the last decade. I absolutely loved it. My spoiler-free review: https://t.co/qXkfKNLznh

As a sucker for ghost stories and Irish folklore, HOKUM was a delightfully frightening watch. Some of the most creative scares in recent memory that shook me to my core. Adam Scott brings to life a lights out turn, seamlessly balancing the terror with a drily funny turn.
HOKUM has some of the best jump scares of any horror film I’ve seen so far this year. Damian McCarthy continues to refine and master his craft with each passing film, and it shows in just how effective his handling of the tone, pacing, and atmosphere is. The integration of Irish folklore adds a unique texture to an otherwise repetitive haunted house story about repressed trauma, while Adam Scott’s thoroughly and understandably creeped-out performance grounds it enough to keep it from becoming what the title suggests.
#Hokum traffics in sharp, frightful fare. Absolutely stomach-churning. Houses a well-written antihero driving the horrific hijinks where you wanna see him be terrorized as well as seek redemption. A dastardly good performance from Adam Scott. Damian McCarthy’s best film yet.
