@history_under I second this. @CwNewbie11 ‘s content is outstanding ! It has spurred my interest in the Civil War. I discovered his channel because JD promoted it.
@history_under The Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH. We tend to take a “ ho hum” attitude about sites that are in our area but the AFM is LEGIT !! It holds its own against the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum IMHO.
@history_under I’m enjoying it. You are giving me wanderlust 🤣. Say, somebody should make a JD bobblehead. Proceeds could go to the GMOH expansion. It would have an Origin shirt on, a chik-fil-a sandwich in one hand and a John McManus book in the other 🤣. I’d buy one.
@history_under I have been there and agree that it is a must see. It is very moving. I’m not an overly emotional person but got choked up a few times during my visit.
@history_under ….we actually paid for music then so we and the industry were way more invested. As for commonality - there is so much narrow-casting with streaming and everyone having access to 1000 channels. Would a show like Friends be as huge today as it was then ? I’m not so sure.
@history_under I agree with you for a couple of reasons - 1) the 90s was the last time music had any kind of soul ( all genres) in my opinion. 2) it’s the last time there was real commonality - pre-streaming, pre- smart phone , internet was in its infancy. …
@MartySmithESPN@ESPNMcGee I’ve been a viewer/listener since the “406” podcast days. If you are the longest running radio show on @ESPNRadio it’s certainly deserved. Don’t ever change - including the Saturday dawn patrol start time. I love your show !! All the best fellas 👍
@MartySmithESPN Glasses at 35 and bifocals at 47. Bad vision runs in my family though - nearly all wear glasses or use contacts. It chalk it up to genes and aging.
@history_under It’s not bad to bail on a book in my opinion. Personally, my “to read” pile is too high to waste time on a clunker. You have been generous to the author by staying with it through half way.
@history_under I feel the same about Fraser. In some of the shots it looks like he is in a fat suit. I have never seen any photos of Ike where he looked overweight. I hope it’s good.
