@LeoneClark A9 - my next step is to make sure I incorporate more student choices. I will also try to be more intentional with my Q4 students and plan better for them. #Q4PLCTalk
@HoodVhood@LeoneClark A safe place in the classroom is key! Some students do not have that at home and have a hard time thinking it’s ok to make mistakes.
@LeoneClark A7 - Growth mindset is something I try to work on in class. I love how her students see mistakes as a positive they can learn from. I want my students to understand that it’s ok to mess up. They are in school to learn and grow, especially from their mistakes. #Q4PLCTalk
@LeoneClark A8 - we like to use flocabulary in our classroom (sustaining). The songs really wakes them up and it helps the kiddos understand the concept a little more. #Q4PLCTalk
@As_SueSeesIt@LeoneClark This is true! Kids need specific details. They want to understand what they are doing well in and what exactly they need to work on. #Q4PLCTalk
@LeoneClark A6 - I try to promote growth mindset daily in my class. My students know that I never expect them to be masters the first day. We may not get it the first time, but we we work together to figure it out and grow. #Q4PLCTalk
@Aclinch77505 @cjohnson_LES @LeoneClark I like this idea as well! I have so many student who have anxiety answering a question, let alone present a whole assignment in front of the class.
@LeoneClark A5 - voice and choice are important for students because it helps with engagement and kids take ownership of their own learning. It’s always interesting to give students free choice on their research. Gives you another opportunity to learn and connect with them. #Q4PLCTalk
@LeoneClark A4 - I’m always looking for new, fun, and engaging activities. Our students get different and different each year. What motivated them last year or was “cool,” may not be the same this year. #Q4PLCTalk
@ck_brooks@LeoneClark I agree with this. I feel like my groups change day by day sometimes. Some of my kids can be masters in one standard and need extra support in a different standard.
