@jadeyphoto@MorePerfectUS@ElizaAllure Sure. Within reason is an important caveat. This tweet didn't specify a time for late. I wouldn't be surprised if they crossed the line. (Punishable for sure). But it did mention deep fryers as well and I have mixed feelings there. Blanket use of exploitation is overkill.
@jadeyphoto@MorePerfectUS@ElizaAllure I wouldn't say working a fast food job is exploitation. Those kids want spending money or to save for a car. It's also a good way to learn responsibility. Fast food is only dangerous if workers are not properly trained. Could it be exploitation in certain circumstances? Sure.
@Phillip11436684@MorePerfectUS Maybe the kids want money? I worked the fryer at 15 so I could buy cds and do fun things. Obviously the companies broke a law about working the frier but kids that age can be responsible enough to work and earn money. Probably good for them.
@CubsQuinn@MorePerfectUS I wanted spending money at that age. I get the intent of the law but also worked a fryer at 15 and didn't have any issues. It was one of the easier jobs in fast food. Could it be dangerous? Sure. But kids that age can handle it. The responsibility at that age was good as well.
@MorePerfectUS Deep fryer is one of the easier jobs when first starting in fast food. I did it when I was 15/16 without any issues. Sounds like they are just getting punished for a law with good intentions but maybe not for actually putting the kids at risk.
@tomwarren I have unlimited PTO and I basically set a minimum goal of how many days off I should take and track it on a calendar. It's more work but that way I make sure I get a fair amount of time. I do plan way ahead though when possible so I don't run into conflicts with others.
@SpaceHaitian@manipulatorlady For sure. I have sent a similar message to someone before regarding my friend with down syndrome. It's a hard balance sometimes of giving them space and protecting them.
@TaylorLewan77 The Nashville Bunny Rescue just saved a bunch of Jeffs that were abandoned in Gallatin. If anyone wants to care for their own Jeff, you should reach out to learn about fostering or adopting.
