This happened to me recently.. Hygienist said "did they talk to you about your 9 cavities".

I said "9 cavities!?" she said yes and showed me xrays where AI had flagged 9 different places.

She said lets compare it to your xrays last year, she pulled those up and those had 2 areas circled by AI.

She said those areas were no longer showing up in my recent xrays. I asked how that was possible, she said it could've just been the angle they were taken at.

Which made me further question the whole "9 cavities".

She told me its better to get them taken care of them now. My thinking was, drilling into my teeth just for the heck of it isn't structurally bad?

I work in software, I work with AI, there is 0 chance I am having my AI flag areas and just letting someone start drilling.

So I am now holding off and thinking of going to non-franchise type Dentist.. and old school one that actually pokes around and finds issues.. not relies on newer tech that is still yet proven.

Example:
Mayo clinic was apparently hiding 67% error rate in their clinical AI assistant.

I also happen to have a friend in corporate for this franchise that has told my wife and I that the whole goal of the company is to get people on treatment plans...

@crisisofconsc I use a tool called Sharepoint Manager Plus by ManageEngine in my org, it’s not perfect but it’s way better than working with them in SP natively (most of the time)
