UN Women Liberia joined the @GenderMinistryL, @UN_Liberia, Medica Liberia, civil society partners, and stakeholders from eight counties to validate the #SASATogether Baseline Assessment & Community Mapping under Liberia’s @GlobalSpotlight 2.0, funded by the #EU. Covering 48 communities and 1,651 women and men, the assessment examined SGBV-related social norms, power relations, attitudes, practices and available support services.
Findings show strong concern about violence against women, but persistent harmful norms around unequal power, consent and victim-blaming, alongside gaps in referral and support systems.
With the findings validated, partners are moving forward with trainer development, safeguarding, referral pathways and community engagement.

UN Women Liberia, @UNDPLiberia & @UNFPALiberia hosted the Civil Society National Reference Group (CS-NRG) Induction Meeting for Liberia @GlobalSpotlight Initiative 2.0, bringing together 11 CS-NRG members to clarify their mandate, roles and responsibilities.
The CS-NRG will help ensure diverse civil society expertise and community perspectives inform implementation, with particular attention to women’s rights groups, survivors and communities facing intersecting forms of discrimination.
Its role is clear: advise, advocate, monitor, and hold the Initiative accountable to its commitments.
