Draft These DEEP SLEEPER RBs in 2025:
If you play golf long enough, especially competitively, you will develop scar tissue. It's a guarantee.
The catalog of missed three-footers, skulled chips, and drives sailing out of bounds in the most significant moments fills our brains.
Now we often have two choices:
1) Let these blunders define us and establish a negative narrative about our games.
2) Understand that it's quite normal. If you care about golf and put your game on the line enough, it happens to everyone. We can learn from these moments and move past them.
This week, I shared a car ride home from a tournament with one of the best players I know. He has been competing for nearly 50 years and is still winning tournaments (already claiming two victories this year at senior events).
The mood was good - both of us had made birdies in a playoff amongst 11 golfers who were vying for the final four spots in match play at one of our top local tournaments.
After I had claimed a spot on the first playoff hole, I watched him stiff a 7-iron to 3 feet while players 40+ years younger than him struggled to make pars.
But the conversation in the car veered towards all the times it didn't happen.
He talked about the heartbreaks and how often he didn't get what he wanted despite having such a stellar playing record. There were too many to recount.
I'm always trying to learn and absorb wisdom, and it struck me how much he embraced his scar tissue, almost as much as his triumphs. At this point in his life, he knew there was no way to achieve what he wanted without also accepting the exact opposite.
Most golfers struggle with this to some extent, regardless of their skill level or experience.
This game can occupy a special place in our hearts, but also torture us in a way nothing else can.
I'm still trying to learn how to deal with my scar tissue, but the more of it I develop, the more I try to understand how it is part of this game. It's nothing to be ashamed of or dwell on excessively. After all, we're just smacking this little white ball around a field. How could it be that serious?
Tony Vitello just gave one of the fiercest postgame press conference openings I’ve ever seen.
He was clearly upset with a question from yesterday asking if they lost tonight, would this season be seen as a success.
There was A LOT more involved with this.
I regret to inform everyone that I am officially a spill guy now. I spill food on myself once a week. Always right in the middle of my shirt. I was never that guy but the reflexes have faded and I’m a spill guy now.
Holy shit @elonmusk just obliterated a BBC “journalist.” Love this. More interviewees should push back against falsehoods because most journalists aren’t very smart and don’t work very hard. It doesn’t take much to expose them:
Hendon Hooker being the best player in America for two-thirds of the season and not even getting invited to NYC is crazy.
What even is this award anymore?
