@JN_Seattle Thanks for the nod, @JN_Seattle. I'm glad you found my graphic useful. Great to see you were writing on a similar topic back in 1998. I love this sentence of yours: "Moving mass is a bigger problem than moving electrons and photons." Despite all the tech, this problem remains.

@carywesterbeck @ErnieBrownII The ones in Kirkland are indeed nice. Though, they are a bit sequestered from the sidewalk. They have an heir exclusivity with the private cabana separating the public from the private. (Not that many people walk on those sidewalks as it’s in a car dependent neighborhood!)

@carywesterbeck Word is a stream editor. A metaphor rooted in the typewriter and typesetting. Best to imagine what it was like to make a table on a typewriter than a drawing board. As desktop publishing grew in popularity, Word approximated 2D layout, but still inside a string of characters.

@stevesi I suspect shifting baseline syndrome had also set in. Not just with company perks, but individual wealth. I recall one of your directs saying to me, “I pick work travel hotels that I would pick for personal travel.” You can bet that wasn’t a budget hotel. 😏
