There's a question we've been chewing on at @podia for the better part of a year: what happens to creator businesses when content becomes abundant? When AI can create unlimited amounts of it as well as any of us?

A lot of platforms look at all this and decide the answer is better AI tools for making content faster.

Maybe.

But we keep coming back to a different idea.

As AI makes content easier and easier to produce, the things it can't produce get more valuable.

The conversations.

The trust.

The act of showing up, week after week, for the people who keep showing up for you.

We think the creators who endure won't be the ones who automate all of that away. They'll be the ones who get to do more of it.

@ABDanielleSmith Imagine if the same standard was applied for politicians. $10M fine or 3x the benefit gained from "deception" for each word Trudeau, Freeland or Guilbeault use that is dishonest or deceptive.

@troypavlek At the end of the day, it isn’t the actual tax amount that matters most. It’s the perceived value they are getting for the increase in tax. It doesn’t seem like a good trade for most people and they feel like they’d get more utility by using the money themselves.

@troypavlek When we’re entering tough times for people, which will continue to get worse, asking for more when people are struggling & govts weren’t willing to cut their pet projects which are completely optional doesn’t sit well with taxpayers.

@troypavlek 2- Governments are among the worst capital allocators in the world. And Edmonton is much worse at capital allocation than the avg municipal govt.
