@EthanBe50546298 Great post! Nothing beats a live performance of your favourite band but these are rare occasions and usually treats to spend the money to see them, so we reach for the next best thing, streaming services. #POPMUSS21
@DarcyL20 I agree, Wald has a point but I don't totally agree with it. There is just something about seeing and hearing a live concert of a band you like that just puts you in such a good mood. Its interesting to see live versions of your favourite songs! #POPMUSS21
I have to disagree with Wald's statement. There are times when I enjoy a live cover of a song more than the original. Sometimes cover bands are just as good, or better than the originals and can add their own style to a song #POPMUSS21
I definitely agree. His voice sounds so raw and genuine when you hear it. He has made himself stand out compared to other artists of his time and thats what you needed to do in the music industry to be successful! #POPMUSS21#CurrentlyListeningToRayCharles
I feel Charles used his breaking voice to show technique, but also to make it sound a bit more real compared to some of the vocals that came out around that time. His voice almost seems more relatable than others, and a bit more genuine.

I think Ray Charles has definitely managed to make himself stand out as an individual and thats why he has exerted such a massive influence in R&B and blues #POPMUSS21
I think that Ray Charles used a breaking voice to show that he has a uniqueness to him, to show emotion and to stand out from other blues and R&B artists #RayCharles#IveGotAWoman#POPMUSS21
Having only recently purchasing Apple Music a year or so ago, my music taste has grown immensely with having so many genres and music suggestions available to me and it has really shown me what my dislikes and likes are! #POPMUSS21
Streaming such as Spotify, has increased ones accessibility to music and exposes them to variety of music that they may not have experienced before. My perception of myself or others has not changed, but I have gained a better understanding of my own likes/dislikes. #POPMUSS21
Music has always been a way for someone to express themselves & when tech such as the Ipod came out it helped people express themselves outside for others to see rather than in their bedroom with a radio. Our phones have put new music at our fingertips daily to enjoy #POPMUSS21
I think that is what happens as well. Music producers and labels know what sells and really only care about the money and this may "dumb down" and make an artist not reach their full artistic potential #POPMUSS21
I don't necessarily believe that popular music is dumbed down. However, I believe that record labels always want their artists to be commercially successful. Even if that comes at the expense of an artists creative control. It sometimes makes popular music algorithmic #POPMUSS21
Agreed, I think when an artist comes up with a theme to a song and the song becomes popular, other artists follows and try to create similar songs rather than being creative and coming up with their own ideas and possibly not reaching their full creative potential #POPMUSS21
I believe that popular music has been simplified to an extent. A large percentage of people listen to music when they are focused on other things (ex driving) and the industry has realized this, so more simplified music is more sellable, resulting in less complex music #POPMUSS21
Three song/albums I would need on a desert island would be:
1. The album 'Uncaged' - Zac Brown Band
2. The album 'Purgatory' - Tyler Childers
3. The song 'She let herself go' - George Strait

I don't really think music has been "dumbed down", however, I do think a majority of artists will follow suit of what is popular and what gets on the charts in that particular time. It seems as though its all about the money and views now, rather than making good music #POPMUSS21
