We are delighted to announce the availability of Smart Hooks, a new serverless offering from OneLogin that facilitates interaction with common workflows, build customizations and integrates with most external system.

Props to REI for helping drive support for the EBIKE Act.
Today, electric cars get $7500 subsidies and electric bikes get none. Yet all cars already receive enormous subsidies in the form of roads (which cars then destroy).
A subsidy for ebikes is a sensible policy we should all get behind.
pretty crazy:
- container ships burn fuels that emit a lot of sulfur
- the sulfur seeds clouds, increasing the reflectivity of earth, cooling it
- new climate rules in 2020 limit sulfur emissions by cargo ships
- a lack of ship-clouds may explain anomalous heating this year
@sseraphini My application doesn’t care. It doesn’t behave any differently on prod vs any other environment.
The environment variables it gets access to will be different though.
it is with great exhaustion that I can announce that our book, "Hypermedia Systems" is now available on the ol' amazons:

June 2023 was the hottest June on record dating back to 1850. It also marked the third straight month of record ocean heat, and was the 47th consecutive June and the 532nd consecutive month with temperatures above the 20th-century average. https://t.co/qogtRW4e6a
@Nezteb@coryodaniel sry for late reply- used to use an early 2020 intel macbook air and absolutely would not recommend. I'm sure the m1/m2 air would be much better but not sure. I got an m2 mpb as soon as it was released and that's been :chefskiss:
@thin__izzy@RobAtkinsonITIF@ClimateHuman I think it comes down to hearing the commonly spouted answers "vote", "donate", "email reps" and being dissatisfied with those as final solutions. I think we should own the problem more- enough so that stirs a real sense of responsibility instead of guilt, anxiety or despair.
@thin__izzy@RobAtkinsonITIF@ClimateHuman Ngl, I don't know 😭 I'm still trying to figure that out. Being active in your community is a prerequisite one way or another. Afaict, voting and emailing your reps are bare minimum, but being active in city council meetings and citizen science groups seems like the next step up?
@thin__izzy@RobAtkinsonITIF@ClimateHuman I worry I've abused the term "grassroots"- I intended local or relatively small orgs. As an example, I live in Washington, so these are two orgs that might be relevant to myself, like volunteering or by joining public meetings:

@thin__izzy@RobAtkinsonITIF@ClimateHuman Er, for clarity: the claim that the *best* solution is for individuals is to donate to fund R&D costs is not helpful. Donations to grassroots & community efforts is definitely important
@thin__izzy@RobAtkinsonITIF@ClimateHuman Big agree. We already have the technologies to reach net 0. What we really need now are economic and policy changes. R&D is still great and can help, but asking people to donate to those efforts is just misdirection.
This is not just summer weather.
It’s not normal.
It’s not safe.
This is climate chaos in action, fueled by our reliance on dirty energy.
This is why I’m fighting for bold climate action that’ll move us toward a renewable energy future.
@POTUS: declare a climate emergency!
