There is so much confirmation bias and so much unnecessary anger, some are driven by agenda, some by lack of understanding, some by plain naivety.

Moniepoint decided to shut down Monieworld; in Nigeria Moniepoint operates as a bank, and they have the POS aspect, and the lending to small business owners arm of their business amongst others.

Moniepoint is bigger than POS, and it’s just one of the services they offer; now last year they expanded into UK and were offering remittance services.

Remittance is how your uncle, aunty, lover and parents send you money and how you receive it in Nigeria; it has nothing to do with POS. They met the regulatory requirements and were into it for over a year.

But the issue with remittance is, the competition is high, there are so many people offering the same service to Nigerian; again this arm of business deals with sending money back home or away from home, they were not entering banking properly in UK.

They saw that as competition was high, the arm wasn’t really worth doubling down on, the money they are spending to keep that arm of business running would be better spent in Nigeria and more expansion and yield.

Remember, that it is a unicorn does not mean they are super rich, valuation does not necessarily mean they have the finances to double down and spend so crazy, they need to max out on as much as they can.

So counting their loss and tracking back, has nothing to do with POS, or whether the country is properly functioning or not, its basic business and they need to make money.

Street trading and the informal market must be decimated. MUST be decimated

Foods are chemicals to the body and must be treated as such hence the need for lab tests and confirmations

When I was in Gwags, I knew a woman In Kutunku who used to mix dye in her red oil to sell in that market in Gwags

I saw her do it at home many times.
And she wasn't even hiding it
