#Steelers HC Mike Tomlin on why he doesn’t just name Justin Fields QB1 after a 4-2 start:
“Justin has been really good, and we’ve been really good at times, but not to be confused with great… We’ve got a player with talent who hasn’t had an opportunity to play, so we’re gonna potentially explore those things.“
Mike Tomlin was asked a ton of questions about Russell Wilson / Justin Fields / QB1 in today’s presser
Here’s everything of note that Tomlin said, including the declaration that he won’t necessarily stick with whomever they start this week
#Cowboys OC Brian Schottenheimer on Jalen Tolbert:
“I think hes maximizing the opportunities. We see a young player that’s continuing to ascend, and we feel very, very strongly that he’s just going to be a very, very good player for a long time in this league.”
#Chiefs HC Andy Reid on JuJu Smith-Schuster:
“Pat [Mahomes] has trust in him. We as coaches have trust in him and we’ve tried to put him in good positions for his strengths and try to utilize those… The guy opposite [Travis] Kelce ends up being very important”
#Jets Interim HC Jeff Ulbrich on Garrett Wilson:
“His movement is absolutely ridiculous. It doesn’t make sense the way that he can change direction, come out of breaks, the way that he can set you up. He’s like an AND1 basketball player in there.”
#Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell on the trade for Cam Akers:
“Really is a depth move. It has no bearing on our current running back situation. Aaron [Jones] is going to progress throughout the week and hopefully has a chance to go on Sunday. Ty Chandler and Myles Gaskin and Cam will work behind. I like where Ty’s at and obviously Aaron Jones has been a huge, huge impact to our team”
